Hope you have had a great week! Ten more days till Christmas! We are all counting down, right? Especially kids.
Birthdays this week are Kaitlyn and Hunter Ross on Dec. 16, Katilyn Henson on Dec. 18 and Chris Julian, Kaden Harris and Marie Enfinger on Dec. 19. Happy birthday to Ailiene Harris Cain on her first birthday in Heaven and Joliene Harris and Janice Julian on Dec. 20.
Our prayer list: Kristen Carlton Jones, Brianna Landers, Samantha Mosier, Joyce Stewart and Woodie Deming. Continue to remember our first responders, our health care workers, our military and our great country. If you need to add someone to our prayer list, call or text me at 879-9777.
Our devotion for this week: “The Greatest Gift” – “‘This is Christmas: not the tinsel, not the giving and receiving, not even the carols, but the humble heart that receives anew the wondrous gift, the Christ.’- Frank McKibben
“‘But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ … For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s gift leads to our being made right with God …for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.’ (Romans 5:15-17, NLT)
“Each year we are reminded that Christmas isn’t just about giving and receiving presents. Yet, if we honestly consider the heart of Christmas, it is, indeed, all about gift giving. At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift ever given, by the greatest gift-giver of all, our wonderful God and Father.
“Jesus Is the Greatest Gift!”
On Thursday, Dec. 16, from 1-4 p.m., a food truck will be at Bethel Baptist Church to serve the western part of the Chester County. Food boxes will be distributed to families with children in school in this part of the county.
God bless each of you this week. Pray for the victims of the tornadoes. Such a horrible devastation and loss of lives. Praise God that we did not experience anything like that.
Call me if you have any news. I would like to get some actual Deanburg news from our residents. Any events, births, weddings, etc!
