Well, it is definitely summer! Deanburg is hot, and I assume the other communities are, too. Stay safe if you are out working in this heat. Hydrate often, wear a hat and light colored/light weight clothes.
Deanburg Baptist Church will host Walter Plan at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 25. He is a native Texan, born in Corpus Christi and raised in the Costal Bend area. Although Walter has been blind from birth, he has been blessed with unique and wonderful musical talents. He has a spectacular voice and blends four keyboards into his background music. Bring all your friends and family and join them. Witness this amazing talent in action!
Prayer requested for Kristen Jones, Brianna Landers, Woodie Deming and Joyce Stewart. As always pray for our first responders, our law enforcement, our state, local leaders and national leaders and our great nation.
No birthdays this week!
Our devotion: “All We Ever See” – “‘We remember the fish we used to eat for free in Egypt. And we had all the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic we wanted. But now our appetites are gone. All we ever see is this manna!’ (Numbers 11:5-6)
“Everything is much better in our memories. That’s the case with the Israelites as they were wandering in the desert, they were remembering the foods they used to eat. Never mind that they were slaves! God provided a daily miracle for them and that is their thanks. What miracles is God providing for you that you’ve overlooked? Let’s learn from these ungrateful Israelites and thank our God for His provisions with a grateful heart!”

See you next week right here! Thanks for looking for me and reading my column. Thanks for the compliments when you run into me. Makes it worthwhile! May God bless each of you richly, as our former pastor and friend Paul Roaten always said!
