Hello from Enville! I hope you all enjoyed your week! Our hearts are saddened by the devastation and loss of life from the tornadoes last Friday night. The damage to many towns, homes and businesses is truly horrific. Please say prayers for all affected and their families. It will take so long to even begin to rebuild their lives.
Winter begins next week on Dec. 21. For the Northern Hemisphere, the winter solstice occurs annually on Dec. 21 or 22. The winter solstice is the day with the fewest hours of sunlight in the whole year, making it the “shortest day” of the year. Each day after will begin to get longer. Christmas is just around the corner. We only have one weekend left to get our shopping for presents and get food done. Us ladies will start our baking and cooking next week to get ready for the big day. Although, I know some men who do some fudge making, and it is delicious. Next, we will be shopping for hog jowl and black eyed peas to eat on New Year’s Day.
We want to say Happy Birthday to Joey Lambert on Dec. 17, Patrick Weatherington on Dec. 19, Isabella Swafford on Dec. 21, Cooper Lutz on Dec. 22 and Ron Maness and Cory Finley on Dec. 23. Happy Anniversary to James and Debbie Vinson on Dec. 21. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the tornado victims, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Inez Cash, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Robert and Linda Johnson, Rick Ooley, Jerry O’Neal, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Ann Pugh, Eugene Springer, Tim Harris, Roger and Sue Henson, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare worker and all electric company workers who are assisting other companies in various places, our schools, those who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125. Have a safe and blessed week everyone!
