Hello from Enville!
I hope you all had a good week! The temperatures for the first part of the week were nice with sunshine, but here comes Thursday, and the weather forecasters are calling for a wintery mix for our area. I sure hope it is wrong.
Hello, February! January went by pretty fast, and I am sure February will do so also!
Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it, so do not forget your special one. It may be your significant other, your mom, friend or any family member; there are several selling chocolate covered strawberries around. Be prepared so you will be on the “good list.”
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will soon have smoke detectors available for anyone in the Enville area who needs them. Every home needs to have them. If interested, call Thomas Gilham at 608-0696. He will put your name on the list, and the firemen can assist in putting them up for you. Mark your calendar for March 5. The fire department will have a fundraiser!
Happy birthday wishes go to Teddy Hollin on Feb. 4, Delana O’Neal on Feb. 6, Annie Beth Ashbrook and Luke Keen on Feb. 8 and Keith Middleton on Feb. 10. Happy anniversary to Rick and Julie Ooley on Feb. 5. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of James Carson and continue prayers for Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Ashley Pugh, Ann Pugh, Inez Cash, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Pat Cates, Tim Harris, Roger and Sue Henson, everyone with COVID, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board and, as always, each other.
It is sad to know the Sweetlips Store is closed. That will affect so many in the area. I hope you enjoy your retirement to the fullest, Dianne and Lou!
We are getting a nice restaurant in Enville soon. We are excited and can hardly wait. They are remodeling the building. It will be very nice when it does open. We have missed our cafe since it closed and our bank as well; hopefully, someone will purchase the bank building, clean it up and put a business there. We are thankful for our post office and nice employees.
If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
