Hello from Enville!
I hope everyone had a great week! We have two hummingbirds already, so get those feeders up! It has been nice to sit outside and have our coffee and enjoy them.
The Enville Community Club thanks all Chester County and McNairy County candidates for coming and speaking at our meeting last week and thanks to those who came to hear them. We appreciate you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to come to our community. You are always welcome!
We have entered Holy Week 2022; it began on Sunday, April 10 and ends on Saturday, April 16. During Holy Week, Christians remember events leading up to Jesus’ death by crucifixion and resurrection. The main days of Holy Week are Palm Sunday (Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem), Holy Wednesday (into darkness), Maundy Thursday (the Last Supper) and Good Friday (Jesus’ agony on the cross). Holy Saturday is when they visited the tomb of Jesus. This is followed by the joyous celebration of Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday (https://www trinity.unimelb.edu.au). Many churches celebrate Holy Week with services throughout the week. We, at Sanford Hill Baptist Church, had a Palm Sunday service and observance of a sunset, Lord’s Supper, outside by the crosses. We will have a Sunrise Service on Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. also out by the crosses; everyone is welcome. The Enville United Methodist Church will have a Good Friday Service at 6:30 p.m. Easter is a fun time for children and family get-togethers, hiding and finding Easter eggs, food and fellowship. That is all good as long as we teach our children the Easter Story, the true meaning of Easter.
The Roby Fire Department will have a fundraiser on Saturday, April 16. They will have barbeque chicken, hamburgers and hotdogs available at 10 a.m. along with a bake sale. An Easter Egg Hunt will take place at 10:30 a.m. Please come and share in this fun event, and thank you in advance for your support! Mark your calendars for the Enville Volunteer Fire Department barbecue fundraiser on Saturday, May 7.
If any Enville resident is interested in smoke detectors, please contact Fire Chief, Thomas Gilham at 608-0696.
Happy Birthday to Richard Maness on April 15, Melissa Maness, Marilyn Smith Mooney and our son-in-law Kelley Collins on April 16 and Nathan Keen on April 18. We want to wish a very Happy 50th Anniversary to Dan and Vickie Parker on April 22. They are our neighbors on Moss Loop. This is a great milestone in a couples life; we wish you many more. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for little Greyson Reynolds, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Mikki Patterson, Inez Cash, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Jerry Laster, Ashley Pugh, Tim Harris, Ann Pugh, Janice and Danny Keen, Roger and Sue Henson, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board, those who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
