Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a good week. It is still hot, but it is August. It was believed to be the hottest month of the summer when I was growing up, but it has been hot all summer! I am not complaining because I know what is coming. I hope we have a nice fall with nice temperatures before moving right into winter.
There was a fatal boating accident in Decatur County this weekend where three people lost their lives; please be in prayer for families of the Rushing Sod Farm and their friends families as well. It is so sad to hear of this kind of thing happening. May God’s arms be around you and comfort you in your time of sorrow.
Well, the election is over, and I hope everyone will congratulate and support the winners of each office. They all worked hard, and it is appreciated.
I hope all Chester County students and staff are settling back into the school mode. They have their first week behind them, so, hopefully, they know where their classrooms are. Praying for a good and safe year!
It looks like Wanda Finley had a great 80th birthday celebration at the river this weekend. She was surrounded by family and friends. She had a big smile on her face in all the pictures. Congratulations Wanda for this great milestone in life!
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Dylan Johnston on Aug. 12, Lee Ann O’Neal and Mike Brewer on Aug. 14 and Christopher Canaday on Aug. 16. Happy Anniversary to Don and Frances Willis on Aug. 17. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
The Enville Community Club and Enville Fire Department will have our Enville Wild Goose fundraiser at 4 p.m. Aug. 27 with a spaghetti supper, cakewalk, silent auction and 50/50 drawing. We hope everyone will come out for great food, fellowship and fun; bring a cake and join us!
Brielle Dennis Grant from Adamsville High School and her family were our guests at the Enville Community Club on Tuesday. She was the recipient of our $500 scholarship. She was presented a check made out to the college she will be attending. We give a scholarship each year to either a deserving Chester County or Adamsville student. We have members from both counties in our club. Congratulations, Brielle!
Please pray for Deb Finley, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Florence Stublaski, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Rick Ooley, Larry Lambert, Jimmy Robertson, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Emily Freeman, Ann Pugh, Linda and Robert Johnson, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, those who have lost loved ones, those with COVID, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board and, as always, each other.
If you have someone to add to the prayer list or have news, please call meat 608-3058. To rent the community center, call Pat Cates at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
