Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week! I do not know about you, but I am loving these temperatures – highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s; it is so nice to sit outside in the mornings, drink our coffee and watch our 20 plus hummingbirds. They are zooming everywhere!
Well, the time has come for our Enville Wild Goose Fundraiser beginning at 4 p.m. this Saturday. There will be a spaghetti supper, followed by a cakewalk at 6 p.m. with a silent auction taking place throughout the evening. Bidding ends at 7 p.m. when bidders can pickup and pay for items. We will be selling tickets there for a 50/50 split the pot drawing to take place at 8 p.m. Come, bring a cake for cakewalk and join in on good food, fellowship and fun! This is sponsored by the Enville Community Club and the Enville Volunteer Fire Department. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
We want to share about our Enville folks. Sydney Cherry, a Chester County student and Vice President of the Chester County Future Farmers of America, took home Supreme Champion Heifer as well as Grand Champion Hereford at the Decatur County Fair last week; her sister, Bristol Cherry took home the Reserve Champion Hereford and competed in the Supreme class. Congratulations and great job girls!
Our grandsons, Blake and Brayden Thompson, now have their drivers permit. We can not believe they are old enough to be driving, so beware! Congratulations to you both!
We are happy to say that our “out west” travelers are back in Enville safe and sound. they took a four week vacation, saw lots of unforgettable sites and marked several off their bucket list. We are glad Harold, Frankie, Annie and Charlie has a great time. Welcome back!
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Allen Nichols and Maxine Grisham on Aug. 26, Theodore Wade Weber on Aug. 27, Charlotte Canaday and Hannah Hilton on Aug. 28 and Joey Ashbrook on Aug. 31. Happy Anniversary to Jeff and Lisa Finley on Aug. 26. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please continue prayers for Deb Finley, Lisa Bishop, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Amanda Johnson, Florence Stublaski, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Rick Ooley, Larry Lambert, Jimmy Robertson, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Tim Harris, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, church news or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week and hope to see everyone in Enville on Saturday!
