Hello from Enville!
The weather is absolutely beautiful, and the fall colors are just gorgeous. The mountain trees are breathtaking, but we have some of these in Enville and surrounding areas. It is nice to take a drive on our country roads and see the many different color leaves and take in God’s awesome creation!
The weather forecasters are predicting rain during this week. We sure do need it. The situation of the Mississippi River is very serious with the barges grounded in several feet of mud with their much needed cargo on them. We will pray for rain to ease this situation.
The farmers have been taking advantage of the dry weather; most of ours around here are finished or nearing the end of their harvest. They say their yields are very good despite the drought. I am so glad to hear that with all their hard work and expenses they have put into their crops.
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department will have a fish fry and cakewalk beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Enville Community Center. They will also serve chicken strips and cake donations will be greatly appreciated. Come out and support our local fire department. Proceeds will go to purchase new fire equipment. See you there!
Roby Volunteer Fire Department will have a chili supper, along with hamburgers/hotdogs and cakewalk, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. Please support these departments!
The Enville Community Club will have a Veterans Appreciation Dinner/Program to honor all veterans present at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the community center. All veterans welcome!
Halloween is almost here. There will be many activities for children to go to safely and get candy. The Sanford Hill Baptist Church is having a Free Fall Fair with rides, inflatables, carnival games and lots of candy from 2-6 p.m. Oct. 29. Bring the kiddos and have fun!
Happy birthday wishes go to Tanya Harwell on Oct. 28, Malcolm Weeks and Tom Harwell on Oct. 29, Eddie Walker, Sr. on Oct. 31 and Wayne Pugh on Nov. 2. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of Barbara Crowe, the sister of Carolyn Wright. Continue prayers for Deb Finley, Lisa Bishop, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Linda and Robert Johnson, Nicole Thompson, Amanda Johnson, Carolyn Wright, Rick Ooley, Larry and Priscilla Gilbert, Mike Pugh, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Tim Harris, Loretta Plunk, Florence Stublaski, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Kathy Emerson, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Jimmy Robertson, Danny and Janice Keen, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools, school board, bus transportation and, as always, each other.
If you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125, or if you have news to share, call me at 608-3058.
Have a blessed week everyone!
