Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week. We had a lot of rain recently. I am ready for some sunshine. I can take the cold much better if we have sunshine to go with it. There is some flooding down at the river. I just pray the water does not get as high as last year, as some are still recovering after all this time. That was so sad to see and experience! The weather got pretty severe here on Saturday morning. Enville and surrounding areas have several trees down. We had power lines down as well, causing power outages. Thanks to Pickwick Electric for their work throughout the day and night to get our power restored as quickly as possible. We appreciate you guys very much! Some had their meter bases torn from their homes, and as I write this article, they are still without electricity, having to get the repairs done before they can be restored. It can be very costly for them. Praying for all with damages, and I am so thankful there were no injuries reported.
I am trying to get used to writing the year 2020 on my checks and other documents. It has been brought to my attention that we need to write out the whole year as such to avoid issues in the future. So be sure to write 2020 anytime you have to date something.
Please continue prayers for Linda and Christy Phillips, Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Niecie Pearson, Jo Marie Holmes, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Danny and Janice Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Tim Harris, Dennis Harwell, Martha Lee Alexander, Steve and Ann Denbow, Ann Vanhoose, Neal Brewer, Roger and Sue Henson, those who have lost loved ones, our country, firefighters and first responders, law enforcement, military and, as always, each other.
Happy birthday wishes go to Lynda Milford on Jan. 22 and Charlie Kent on Jan. 23. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Remember that Monday, Jan. 20, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. There will be no school in Chester County. The Post Offices will be closed as well as banks. It is good to have the Poupard’s back for good and also Alice, who will be a resident of Enville.
Our granddaughter, Reece Collins, and her team played their last basketball game Saturday. They ended the season with a win. We are proud of all the teams, and we have enjoyed this basketball season. Softball and baseball season is right around the corner!
