Hello from Enville. I hope everyone had a great week! Some folks got rain on Sunday, but we did not, and our garden sure needs some. Everything is drying up way too soon. If it does not rain in the next few days, we will have to water it. Boy, hasn’t it been hot?! We were at the sports complex in Jackson last weekend, watching our boys play baseball, and we could hardly stand just sitting there. I do not know how the players played as well as they did in that heat!
We can not wait until the Huddle House gets built and open. It will give us a little more choice of places to eat on Sunday. There are not many places open to eat on Sunday night. Our family went to The Fiesta this past Sunday night, and they were closed. Others were trying to eat there as well. That is where we usually go. Thank goodness for fast food because I sure did not want to cook!
Early voting started Friday, July 17, and ends on Aug. 1. It was reported they had a great first day, and I was told it went smoothly. We have never participated in early voting, but this year, you never know if you will be in quarantine on Election Day, so we may consider it!
Do not forget the Back to School Bash from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at the Chester County Middle School. It is a drive-thru event. The backpacks have been filled with supplies for each grade, so you tell them which grades you need. This is a great thing and is open for all students in Chester County!
Mrs. Inez Cash had a wonderful 99th birthday celebration. She celebrated with family on Saturday. She wants to thank everyone for the cards, calls, visits, money, flowers, homemade strawberry cake, egg custard pie, lots of garden vegetables, jam and lots of goodies. I think someone even mowed her yard for her. She wants to thank her, too. Mrs. Inez says that it was the best birthday yet, but just wait until next year!
Happy birthday wishes go to Pattie Gilham on July 24, Nicky Gilham on July 25, Connie Timmer and Jade Grisham on July 26, Blake Thompson and Brayden Thompson on July 27 and Janice Keen on July 30. Hope you all enjoy your special day!
Prayer concerns this week are for the family of Neal Brewer, Jean Crowell, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Christy Phillips, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Jo Marie Holmes, Imogene Hollin, Inez Cash, Lisa Bishop, Linda Phillips, Genny Sue Martin, Dean Hutcherson, Doris Weeks, Harold and Janice Maness, Janice Keen, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Dennis Harwell, Florence Stublaski, Steve Denbow, Ann Vanhoose, Kristen Daniel, Tim Harris, Wayne Bethune, all those who have lost loved ones, our military, firefighters, first responders and healthcare workers, those affected by the virus and, as always, each other.
If you have news, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
