Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week and a happy Labor Day weekend. I hope you got to spend the day with family, doing all the fun stuff we do on holidays or just enjoying your day off from work.
Friday, Sept. 11, will be Patriot Day, which commemorates the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Virginia and those who perished in the hijacked United Airlines Flight 93 crash in Pennsylvania. Americans are called on to observe Patriot Day with a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Observe the day with ceremonies and activities, including remembrance services.
Also, Sunday, Sept. 13, is Grandparents Day. It is a national holiday or observance celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day, although it is not classified as a federal holiday. The purpose is to honor grandparents. If you still have your grandparents, spend the day with them or give them a call and let them know you love them.
Happy birthday wishes go to Tanya Oliver on Sept. 12, Glenda Rickman on Sept. 13 and our daughter, April Collins and Sherry Smith Kendall. Happy anniversary to Corey and Brittany Finley on Sept. 17. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the families of Christy Phillips and Betty Harville. Also, pray for Linda Phillips, Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice Keen, Florence Stublaski, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Doris Weeks, Janet Scott, Jo Marie Holmes, Dean Hutcherson, Dennis Harwell, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Inez Cash, Imogene Hollin, Brother Bill Evans, Harold and Janice Maness, Jo Martin, Kristen Daniel, Genny Sue Martin, Ann Vanhoose, Tim Harris, Wayne Bethune, Dwayne and Nona Seaton, Dwayne Seaton, Jr., others affected by the virus, those who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125. Have a blessed week everyone!
