Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week. On Saturday we had some severe storms move through our area with some major damage – snapped utility poles, downed trees and power lines, etc. Several Volunteer Fire Departments were called out to cut trees off the highway and off houses. So many Pickwick Electric customers were out of power over most of their service area, and as of Monday, we and many others still have no electricity, and some have no water. It still looks like a war zone in a wide spread area with power lines on the ground and trees everywhere. We are very blessed to have no damage, since it started only a quarter of a mile from us. We also are blessed to have a generator to at least have lights and use some things. A man in Adamsville lost his life when he went outside to rescue a family pet. Please be in prayer for his family and everyone who has lost their homes and businesses. We praise God that there were no more fatalities. Pickwick Electric, as well as other cooperatives, are working diligently to repair the lines and get power restored to each home, and for that we are thankful and appreciate each one of you. We hope you all stay safe!
Several will be set up at the Enville Community Center to hand out candy at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 31. Please bring your little ones to fill their pumpkins. We love seeing each one!
Another month has gone, and November is almost here. There will be a veteran and senior dinner/ program at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Enville Community Center. Everyone is welcome. Invite a veteran or senior citizen.
Happy birthday to Wayne Pugh on Nov. 2, Jacelyn Haskins on Nov. 4 and Kim Henry and Debbie Vinson on Nov. 6. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
