Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a wonderful week.
We are still being blessed with nice weather, chilly in the mornings and warm during the day. Perfect fall weather! Thanksgiving is next week. We can hardly wait for our dinners. Yes, plural. We have our dinner with Danny’s family on Sunday at noon and Thanksgiving song/Praise Service and Meal at church on Sunday night. Then, my family comes to our house on Thanksgiving Day. We will have our fill of turkey and all the trimmings; we may be gobbling by the end of Thanksgiving! I truly hope everyone gets to spend it with family.
We are already seeing Christmas decorations and trees lit up. I love seeing all the lights. The towns have their decorations up and on. Henderson is getting ready for their Christmas Parade on Dec. 3rd. The streets are looking very festive. We always look forward to the parade. Ours are not up yet, but they will probably be soon. I know the holidays are supposed to a happy time, but for so many families affected by the COVID-19 and so many other illnesses, this year will be different; let us all pray for these families and each other and be thankful for what we do have.
Pray for the families of Virginia Cox; Vickie Wolf Franks, a classmate of mine; and Brother Bill Evans, the pastor of the Enville United Methodist church. Continue prayers for Jean Crowell, Robert Smith, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice Keen, Florence Stublaski, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Doris Weeks, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Jo Marie Holmes, Linda and Robert Johnson, Inez Cash, Imogene Hollin, Genny Sue Martin, Paulette Pugh, Loretta Plunk, Dean Hutcherson, Jimmy Robertson, Kristen Daniel, Tim Harris, Janet Scott, Dwayne Seaton, Jr., Jamie Dilday, Wayne Bethune, those who have lost loved ones, those affected by the virus, firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and healthcare workers and, as always, each other.
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Kelly Weber on Nov. 21, Alice Starnes on Nov. 22, Jerry O’Neal on Nov. 23 and Cheri Hutcherson, Connie Hearn and Tommy Wade on Nov. 24. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
I received a nice call from Mr. Jimmy Ruth last week. He was reminiscing about folks he knew from here. He said that Ward Johnson (Danny’s dad) was his teacher in school, and the last place he remembered seeing him was at Bell’s Drive In many years ago. He also mentioned Jack O’Neal and hoped he and his wife feel better soon. We hope you are doing well, Mr. Jimmy!
If you have news to share, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
