Hello from Enville! I hope you all had a good week. Another month is in the books, and April is here. Do not get fooled on April 1. Be on guard for all the April Fools’ shenanigans that will be played on us! Good Friday is April 2. Some churches will have Good Friday services to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and this death at Calvary. Easter is Sunday, April 4, the day of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. We at Sanford Hill Baptist will have an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. Then, we will have regular services. Everyone is invited. I am so thankful we all survived the storms and possible tornados we had over the weekend, and I pray for the ones in our county and surrounding counties who were not as blessed and have damage to homes and property. I hope the ones we are getting this week are not severe, and everyone is safe. I pray the rain slows down. As of right now, looking at the predictions, our river lots are not going to flood. It is going to be close, so we would like for the rain to stop for a while and let the river go down.
The Enville Baptist Church will resume all normal services beginning on Easter Sunday, April 4. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m. with worship services at 11 a.m. and Sunday night services at 5:30 p.m. They will hold Wednesday night services at 6:30 p.m. They invite anyone to any or all their services.
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department is having a barbeque fundraiser on Saturday, May 8, beside the Enville City Hall. There will be barbeque hog, chicken and bologna. They are also pre-selling barbeque rib tickets for $20 a rack. Contact any fireman to order!
Happy birthday wishes go to Ben Hilton and Brooke Lutz on April 3, Lexi Harwell and Cayden Kakalecik April 5 and Taylor Keen on April 8. You all enjoy your special day.
Our prayer list is Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Tim Hampton, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Wanda Ellis, Jo Marie Holmes, Tim Harris, Jimmy Robertson, Genny Sue Martin, Carolyn Wright, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, those affected by illnesses, tornado victims and, as always, each other. If you have news to share, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
