Hello from Enville! I hope you all enjoyed your week. The weather has been nice, but the middle of this week was very cold. I am ready for all these little winters to be done and move out. I know I am ready, as many of you are, for warm and dry weather. It looks so good to see the farm equipment going up and down the roads, so please be mindful of the slow moving tractors, sprayers and such when you are driving over the hills and around curves.
Decoration days at various cemeteries are starting soon. It takes a lot of work to keep them manicured, mowed and looking good, so remember to make donations to the cemeteries where you have loved ones buried. A lot of people donate their time, and it is very much appreciated!
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department is having a barbeque fundraiser beginning at 10 a.m. May 8 beside the city hall. They will have pork, chicken and bologna. Also, they are taking pre-orders for barbeque rib racks, which are $20 per rack. If interested, contact Thomas Gilham at 688-0696, Danny Johnson at 688-5129, Parker Herndon at 608-5995 or any of the firemen. There will also be a bake sale inside the city hall. Get your Mother’s Day dinner and desserts, so everyone can enjoy their day with their families.
Happy birthday wishes go to Gail Durbin on April 24, Donna Wade and Jerry Freeman on April 25, Jake Gray on April 26, J.P. Glover on April 27 and Scarlett Henley on April 29. Happy anniversary to Gerald and Phyllis Russom on April 25. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Linda and Robert Johnson, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Genny Sue Martin, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Jo Marie Holmes, Wanda Ellis, Tim Hampton, Tim Harris, Jimmy Robertson, those who have lost loved ones, those battling illnesses, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers and our military and, as always, each other.
Mark your calendars for Aug. 28 for the Enville Wild Goose Shindig! The Milledgeville Heritage Day is Saturday, April 24. There will be food, venders and something for everyone!
If you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125, or if you have news to share, call me at 688-5129.
Have a blessed week everyone!
