Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week! Decoration Days have begun. Cemeteries in our area for the first Sunday in May are O’Neal, Mt. Zion, Grove Springs, Center Hill, Roby and Beech Springs. Those on the second Sunday in May are Woodlawn in Enville, Mars Hill in Leapwood, Milledgeville, Sweetlips and Finger cemeteries. On the third Sunday are Johnson near Enville and Cabo cemeteries. On the second Sunday in June is Holly Springs. Thanks to Pat Jones for this information! Be sure to make donations to the ones where you have folks buried for the mowing and upkeep expenses.
Mother’s Day is fast approaching, so treat your mothers to a barbeque and dessert meal from the Enville Volunteer Fire Department, so she can enjoy her day with family and not have to be in the kitchen all day. Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, downtown Enville, they will have barbeque pork, chicken and bologna. Also, they are pre-selling barbeque rib racks for $20. To order ribs, contact Chief Thomas Gilham at 608-0696, Danny Johnson at 688-5129, Parker Herndon at 608-5995 or see any of our firemen. Please support your local fire department! The community center committee will have a bake sale inside the city hall. If you can donate any home cooked desserts, they would be greatly appreciated, call Pat Cates at 688-5125. The proceeds will go to help pay the utilities. Again, please support your community!
It was good to have Jim and Donna Wade visiting their farm. We always love seeing them, so hurry and plan another trip back to Enville! I hear that Tommy and Linda Wade will soon have their daughter from up North moving close by. I know they will all be happy about that! It is good to have Harold, Frankie, Annie and Charlie back in Enville from their car show trip.
Sanford Hill Baptist Church in Henderson will have a Spring Revival beginning this Sunday, May 2, through May 5 at 6:30 pm. Worship Leader will be Kenny Scott from Scotts Hill Baptist. Speaker will be Danny Sinquefield from First Baptist. Memphis and Country Artist Jeff Bates will give his Testimony Message on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. There will be a meal served each night. Everyone is invited.
Please continue prayers for Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Jo Marie Holmes, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Genny Sue Martin, Wanda Ellis, Tim Hampton, Jimmy Robertson, Tim Harris, all those who have lost loved ones, those battling illnesses, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, our military and, as always, each other.
Happy birthday wishes go to D.B. Weatherington and Emilie Holder on April 30, Lucy Ashbrook on May 4, Agnes Tenry Smith on May 5 and Beverly Weatherington on May 7. Happy anniversary to Harry and Connie Timmer on May 1 and J.P. And Easton Glover on May 4. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Mark your calendar for Aug. 28 for the Enville Wild Goose Shindig. More details to follow.
If you have news, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
