Hello from Enville. I hope you all had a wonderful week! The weather has improved this week. We can sit outside in the mornings, drink our coffee and watch our two little hummingbirds without freezing. Speaking of hummingbirds, everyone that I have talked to does not have many yet. Maybe they will arrive soon. Last year, we had about 20!
This school year is nearing the end. I hope all the kiddos had a good year and are looking forward to the summer. I know many will soon be going on vacations to Florida, the mountains, camping and many other places. Whatever your plans are, I hope you and your family have a fun and safe summer!
Memorial Day is almost here. This is known as the first unofficial holiday of the summer. It is when most folks open their backyard pools and most public pools open up for use on this weekend. Dixie Youth softball, baseball and T-ball is going strong. If you want to see your friends and neighbors, go to the ball field. That is where the action is! I am glad so many kids are interested in outdoor sports and are out being active instead of inside on video games, and it gets us grandmas and grandpas off the couch also!
We want to send out Happy Birthday wishes to Rhonda Pickens and Casey O’Neal on May 21, Linda Phillips Johnson and Misty Fortune on May 22, Pat Cates, Eugene Springer and Jimmy Martin on May 23, Jan Johnson (me) and Harold Wright on May 24, Kevin Maness on May 26 and Thomas Williamson on May 27. Happy Anniversary to Josh and Audrey Trammell on May 27. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please continue prayers for Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Jean Crowell, Linda and Robert Johnson, Jo Marie Holmes, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Genny Sue Martin, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Tim Harris, Jimmy Robertson, Wanda Ellis, those battling illnesses, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers and military and, as always, each other.
We attended the Chester County graduation on Monday night to see our great nephew, Hunter Harwell, graduate. Also, Austin Vest from Enville and several from our Sanford Hill church graduated. Congratulations to all the graduating class of 2021! The recipient of the Enville Community Club Scholarship this year is Madison Hatch. She attends Adamsville Junior/Senior High School, and she plans to attend the University of TN at Martin in the Fall. Congratulations, Maddie! We appreciate all the applications that were received. If you have news to share, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125. Have a blessed week everyone!
