Hello from Enville! I hope you all had a blessed week. The temperatures and heat indexes are climbing this week, so be careful if you work or have to be outside. Stay hydrated and take breaks often.
Well, the time for our Wild Goose Shindig is here! It will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday. Come have supper with us. The Fire Department will have barbeque chicken, bologna, hamburgers and hot dogs ready. We will also have pork, baked beans and slaw. Browse around the silent auction tables and do a little bidding on your favorite items (bidding ends at 8 p.m.), bring a cake and enjoy the cakewalk at 6 p.m. From 7-9 p.m. you can kick up your heals or bring your lawn chair and sit and enjoy the Bo Jack Killingsworth Band. We hope to see everyone there!
There will be a big yard sale at the Enville Cafe building beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, and at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 29. They will have something for everyone!
We have a member of our community who is in need of a twin bed, mattress and box springs. If anyone has any of these items, please let me know by calling 688-5129, and I will relay the message. Thanks in advance!
Happy Birthday wishes go to Theo Wade Weber on Aug. 27, Charlotte Canaday and Hannah Hilton on Aug. 28, Joey Ashbrook on Aug. 31, Brenda Essary, Stan O’Neal and Gerald Russom on Sept. 2. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for the family of Jimmy Crowell and continue prayers for Gail Durbin, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Jo Marie Holmes, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Roy Middleton, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Linda and Robert Johnson, Mitch Maness, Tim Harris, Roger Henson, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and healthcare workers, those battling COVID, all the families of the East Tennessee floods and the tornado victims in Iuka, Miss., and, as always, each other.
If you have news to share, call me at 688-5129, or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
