Hello from Enville!
I hope you all had a great week. A new month is here, and I hope it will be a good one for everyone. We are expecting some wind and rain from hurricane Ida, but by the time you read this, it should be over and have given way to some very nice weather with comfortable temperatures.
Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 6. It is commonly known as the last holiday of the summer. Labor Day is a time to pay tribute to American workers for their contributions through the years and is considered a patriotic holiday. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. The weather is going to be very pleasant. I am sure the river will be full of boats, jet skis and tubes. There will be many cookouts, camping and get-togethers with family. Whatever you all do, I pray for a fun and safe holiday weekend!
The Enville Community Club and Fire Department would like to thank everyone who came to the shindig on Saturday and made it a success. We all had a great time, and it was good to see everyone, so once again, thank you for your support!
Enville sends out Happy Birthday wishes to Steven Grisham and Larry Lambert on Sept. 4 (would have been my mom’s birthday, too) and Mason Weeks on Sept. 7. Happy Anniversary to Jerry and Nancy Freeman on Sept. 8. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Florence Stublaski, Doris Weeks, Gail Durbin, Mary Lee Guyon, Agnes Smith, Janice and Danny Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Jo Marie Holmes, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Tim Harris, Mitch Maness, Roy Middleton, Roger Henson, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers and military, our schools, our country, all who are battling COVID, those who have lost loved ones, those affected by Hurricane Ida and the flood victims, and, as always each, other.
The Enville Community Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the community center. This will be a potluck meal. If you are interested in being a part of a group that makes our community a better place to live, you are invited.
If you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125, or if you have news, call me at 688-5129.
Have a blessed week everyone!
