Hello from Enville! I hope everyone enjoyed their week. The temperatures have been pleasant with a nice breeze. I am pretty sure it is welcomed by most. We still have about 20 hummingbirds on our feeders, but with these cool mornings, I am thinking they will begin to thin out as they start heading south. We will surely miss them because we sit and watch them every morning as we drink our coffee! I hope all grandparents had a blessed Grandparents Day on Sunday. Autumn begins on Sept. 22. I absolutely love this time of year. I love all the Fall decorations, and I am already seeing a few. I do not have any decorating done yet but will very soon.
All the Chester County sports are going great right now. We are so proud of all our student athletes. They practice hard, and it is very time consuming, but they are dedicated to their sport and give it their all, boys and girls alike. Our grandchildren, Blake, Brayden and Reece, all play ball, and it keeps us hopping from the softball field to the football field and soon to be the basketball court, but we enjoy watching them!
Congratulations to Bristol Cherry and her livestock judging team for winning second place at The Tennessee State Fair in Lebanon. Also, thanks to our UT Extension Agent Steve Rickman for all your work and dedication to our 4-H youth. Congrats to you all
Happy birthday wishes to Madison Hatch, Carrie Timmer and Amber Bates on Sept. 18, James Gerald Vinson on Sept. 21 and Tim Harris on Sept. 22. Happy anniversary to Corey and Brittany Finley on Sept. 17. We hope you all enjoy your special day.
Please be in prayer for Brian and Linnea O’Neal. They lost their home to a fire last week. Also, pray for Alice Starnes, Eugene Springer, Gail Durbin, Shirley Hampton, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Doris Weeks, Florence Stublaski, Roy Middleton, Jo Marie Holmes, Mary Lee Guyon, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Danny and Janice Keen, Lisa Bishop, Genny Sue Martin, Jimmy Robertson, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Tim Harris, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Mitch Maness, Amanda Johnson, Roger Henson, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers and military, our schools, our country and, as always, each other.
Our Sanford Hill Baptist Church had a wonder service Sunday evening. There were three baptized in the Chickasaw Lake. I have not seen this in many years. That was the way when I grew up, in lakes, ponds and river. So many have never seen a baptism like this before. If you have news to share, call me at 608-3058 (I do not have a landline now), or if you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
