Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week. The weather has been gorgeous. It is so nice to sit and have my coffee on our back patio and watch the hummingbirds. By the way, they are eating us out of house and home. I fill the feeders twice, sometimes three, times a day, but I have 15 or 20 birds. Can’t actually count them, so I may be missing some!

August is here! School starts this week. Some go for a half day on Thursday, and the rest go for a full day on Friday. It is time for drivers to be cautious of children and buses picking up and unloading. We all will have to get used to this again. Please add a few minutes for your commute to allow for all the bus stops. Let us keep everyone safe!

Chester County had two girls softball teams to advance to the World Series. The CC Dixie Belles played in Louisiana. We are very proud of two of our Enville young ladies, Lexi Harwell and Charlotte Canaday. The CC Dixie Darlings are playing in Alabama. As I write this, they are still in. Good luck, girls, and congratulations to both teams!

CCHS FBLA team shines at local, state and national competition. Earlier this year at the regional conference, our Enville student, Christopher Canaday, won first place in Cybersecurity. In March at the State Leadership Conference, he received a trophy for first in Cybersecurity. Christopher also represented CCHS at the Future Business Leaders of America National Conference June 29-July 2 in San Antonio, Texas. Congratulations, Christopher!

The Enville Wild Goose Shindig is from 3-9 p.m. Aug. 24. Come out for good food, silent auction, cakewalk, gospel and country music and fellowship. Hope to see you there!

Happy wishes go to Thomas Gilham and Rebecca Ashbrook on Aug. 2, Susie Holley and Harold Finley on Aug. 3 and Wanda Finley on Aug. 6. We hope you all enjoy your special day!

Please add Melinda Johnston and Tom Harwell to your prayers and continue praying for Christy and Linda Phillips, Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Florence Stublaski, Mary Lee Guyon, Niecie Pearson, Jo Marie Holmes, Harold and Janice Maness, Danny Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Tanya Pierce, Tim Harris, Roger Henson, Janice Roach, Neal Brewer, those who have lost loved ones, our firemen and first responders, our military families, our country and, as always, each other.

If you have someone you wish to have added to the prayer list, call 688-5129. Prayer is power, and it really works! If anyone wants to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.

Have a blessed week everyone!
