Hello to my family and friends. It is a new week and a new day, and it is always a blessing to be with you! This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! For those who were off of work for President’s Day, I hope you enjoyed it. For me and my house, we had a wonderful weekend with family. Remember to tell your family and friends you love them as often as you can.
Before I continue, on Thursday, Feb. 16, Ms. Valorie Griggs was shopping at Cash Saver and lost her purse. If you have ever lost something, especially your purse or billfold, it is not a good feeling. We do have some honest and truthful people that live here in Henderson. If anyone finds a purse, please return to owner or give me a call.
On Saturday, Feb. 18, there was a Black History Program at the Chester County Senior Center. The theme this year was “Establishing Historic Landmarks in Henderson.” Ms. Elizabeth Saunders was the speaker. Ms. Saunders shared with everyone the history of education and schools for the black student here in Henderson and in different states. One of the stories Ms. Saunders shared was about Ruby Bridges. Ruby Bridges was only six years old when she became the first Black student to integrate into an all-white school in New Orleans, La. It was a decision her parents ultimately made so that their daughter could get a better education, and it was a decision that would drastically reshape American history. The program was outstanding! To the following ladies, April Hollingsworth, Lucille Wright and Amie Croom, thank you ladies for a great program! Keep up the great work!
Congratulations to Coach Bianca Thomas for Coach of the year! To you and your girls, great job!

The City of Henderson is so proud of you! Keep up the great work!
Happy Birthday to Darrius “DJ” Johnson on Feb. 20. He turned the ripe old age of 10. Also, Keona Crooms celebrated her birthday as well on Feb. 20. Guess who turned 74 years young on Feb. 15? She is a lady that loves everyone, is a great mother, auntie and neighbor and is an amazing friend. Mrs. Linda Howard, the city of Henderson and your niece Amie Croom want you to know we are thinking of you! Happy belated birthday!

On the prayer list this week: Chadwich Prather, Shanice Prather, Margaret Bond, and Dionne Thomas for the healing of their body. Pray also for the Fisher family that have lost a loved one. Remember our children, the teachers, our families, the sick and shut in, our men and women who are serving our country and also the incarcerated. Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us us try to support our own as much as we can.
