Hello to all!
For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! This is a new week for new thoughts and a chance to do things better, but most of all, it is a blessing to be with you on this week. This week, hug your family members and let them know how much you love them. Even though my mother has gone to paradise, I will always have the hugs she gave me and I gave her. I remember one of my friends said, “Your family loves to hug.” I said, “Yes, it is what we do because we are always glad to see each other!” So share a hug with someone you love today. If you are afraid to hug, give them a dap. Can you believe the month of April is halfway gone? The month of May will be here before we know it, and the class of 2023 will be getting ready to graduate, WOW! It does not seem real.
I hope you had a great weekend and had a wonderful Easter Sunday! I love to see the beautiful flowers during Easter. I was downtown in Henderson last week, and I was looking at some of the beautiful tulips and the daffodils down on Main Street. There were not that many. I guess it could be because of the weather we have had. I remember in 2020-21 a person by the name of Marc Joblin planted the beautiful flowers. I do not know where Marc is, but what I do know is when I see Marc’s flowers it always put a smile on my face.
On Monday, while my husband and I were having lunch at Jack’s here in Henderson, it was a pleasure to eat and talk to friends that we have not seen in a long time. While we were there, I was talking to the Moten family; they requested to put the following loved ones on the prayer list: pray for Bobby Moten’s healing and pray for Randy Moten and Melinda Moten in Georgia as well. Carol Williams let me know that she is scheduled for surgery April 17, so please keep her in your prayers as well. Continue praying for Lynette Witherspoon as she recovers from her surgery. Please pray for Ben Williams’ health as well. Continue to pray for the tornado victims.
I do not know how many of you like to watch the women college basketball games. On Monday of this week, Jordan Horston, a guard from Tennessee University, was chosen by Seattle Storm to play for the WNBA. I was very proud to hear her name called. Just to know she is from the Volunteer State!
Southwest Head Start is now taking applications on three- and four-year old children for Chester County Head Start in Henderson for the 2023-24 school year. For more information, contact the Head Start Center, 989-2561.
To the following that have a birthday coming soon, the City hopes you will have a Happy Birthday: Dimitric Carter Brown, 4/26; Amy Alvis, 4/28; and Celeste Taylor, 4/30. God bless you with many more. The city would like to take this time to wish all of our loved ones in the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center who had a birthday this week a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Please help me pray for our United States of American and remember to pray for our children, teachers and families, our men and women who are serving our country and also the incarcerated.
Do not forget to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you, call or text me at 608-6132. HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
