Hello to my family and friends. It is a new week, a new day, and it is always a blessing to be with you! This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Before we go any further, let us keep those families of Parkland, Fla., in our prayers. Feb. 14 marked two years since that terrible shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. I can not imagine how those families felt on that Valentine’s Day, a day of love and giving. So many hearts, far and near, were broken on Feb. 14, 2018. Let us keep praying for those families, and keep them in your hearts. Remember to tell your family and friends you love them. For those who were off of work on Presidents Day, I hope you enjoyed it. For me and my household, we had a wonderful weekend with the family.
On Saturday, Feb. 15, there was a Black History Program at Chester County Senior Center; it was sponsored by some ladies from the Henderson Community. The program was outstanding! Great job, ladies! Keep up the great work!
You know there are some people in this world that study how to scam someone. Some of the most targeted people are our elders. I myself have received phone calls from these individuals. A number of common scams target Social Security benefits. These scams generally involve criminals who impersonate Social Security workers so they can obtain Social Security numbers and other personal information. Beware of Social Security scams. Scammers use phone calls and email messages to impersonate Social Security personnel and trick people into giving up money and personal information. Common tactics include threatening the suspension of Social Security benefits or charging for services the Social Security Administration provides for free. If you suspect you have been the victim of a scam or simply want to report Social Security calls or correspondence that you find suspicious, please call your local Social Security Office.
The City would like to SHOUT OUT congratulations to some of the most outstanding Public Speakers here in Chester County 4-H Club: Tiquiasha Barham, Zayden Walker, Randi Martin, Kynlie Kizer, Miquisha Barham, Amelia Guthrie, Gracelyn Galloway, Gracie Freeman, Hudson Lewis, Savannah Carnell, Dori Rautbort, Ariel Faulkner, Damien Mayo, Daisy McManus and Xavier Falkenheim. All of you did an outstanding job! The City also would like to say thank you to the outstanding judges: Darlene Goff, Amy Wooley, Rick Seaton and Mia McNeal.

On the prayer list: all our children, our teachers and our family, the sick and shut in, our men and women who are serving our country and also the incarcerated.
