Hello to my family and friends. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! This is a new week and a new month, another month for new beginnings, new thoughts and a chance to do things better, but most of all, it is a blessing to be with you on this week.
April has arrived, and what does that mean? I hope more spring-like weather! No April Fool’s jokes! April is the time when the cuckoo and swallow arrive to let us know that spring is in the air. I am ready for these birds to start singing. I know this is the time when we would be getting ready for baseball, softball and soccer; high school and college seniors would be getting ready for their graduation, but instead we are staying inside and being safe from the coronavirus. While some of you are staying at home with your children and looking for some fun things to do with them, here are some ideas for the family to do: 1. Make a time capsule! One day your kids can use it to tell their kids all about things that went on doing the coronavirus, how everyone ran out and bought lots of TP and how the stores shelves were empty. 2. Play a game. 3. Write a letter to someone. 4. Fold clothes together. 5. Do a puzzle together. 6. Put on some music and dance together. Make a video of it. When you look back at the video, it will be so funny! 7. Make an indoor obstacle course. 8. Snuggle on the couch and read your favorite books. 9. Go in your backyard and look for four-leaf clovers. We did this when we were children and still do. 10. Make paper airplanes and see whose plane flies the farthest. These are just a few ideas. I am very sure you can think of many more on your own. Remember to always pray together as a family. This would be a great time to learn Psalm 23 in the Bible. Enjoy and have FUN with your family!
We would like to say Happy Birthday to Larry Day on April 2; Cindy Thurman, a Head Start teacher, on April 2; Brooke Emerson, another Head Start teacher, on April 4; Nancy Moore on April 7; and Amy Edwards on April 9. Also we want to wish a Happy Belated Birthday to Desmond Ingram, Sr. and Jonathan Graham on March 31. Also, Pastor James Vincent celebrated on March 27 and Shirley Croom on March 29. May the Lord bless all of you on your special day!
Remember to be safe, pray for our elderly, health providers, Armed Forces, children, parents, our loved ones who are in the hospitals, the ones that are sick in their homes, the President of our country, the incarcerated and everyone that you know. I love all of you!
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your families, birthdays, anniversaries, announcements or things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Call me at 989-1907 and leave your message or text me on my cell phone 608-6132.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
