Hello, family and friends! How great and wonderful it is to be with you one more time. The Lord has allowed us to see one more day with everything going on. To God be the Glory! For this is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.
We do not know when the Lord is going to call us home. There is one thing we do know – one day He will call us home. On April 9, he decided it was that time for our little Ashanti Nikole Harris at the tender age of 17. Last week, her father wrote how he felt about his daughter. It was called “Daddy’s Lil Angel.” There was several friends and loved ones who wanted to share their love and thoughts
Uncle Tyrone wrote, “I first learned of my niece Ashanti when her Dad asked me to meet her mom in Lexington to pick her up and let her stay with me and my wife. She was such a sweet baby.” – Love Uncle Tyrone
“To know her is to love her, save that dollar for me.” – R. Massey
“Psalms 34:18 – ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’ When we are at our weakest GOD is at his strongest. Fly high, Ace. You are loved and will truly be missed!” – N. Ross
“That beautiful smile, how much she loves to be with her daddy and her talent she had for basketball are the memories I hold of Ashanti.” – Love, Cousin Lamont
“I remember her smile and her loving to joke around and making everyone laugh. She was the type of person who didn’t meet any strangers. If you would listen, she would talk to you all day. She was a very focused and determined girl and that would have carried her anywhere she wanted to go.” – Love, Cousin Derrick
“You always wore such a beautiful smile and a humble spirit. I’m gonna miss you on the holidays.” – Love, Uncle Steve
“Rest easy. I remember the days when we was little and used to go to grandmamas and sit outside and talk and play, and I’ll never forget those days. This don’t seem real. It breaks my heart, but I know you will forever be watching over us.” – Love, Cousin Nalie
“I remember when we were both younger, and you would come to grandma’s, and we would laugh about almost anything. That’s what I remember the most. You shine bright with your smile and are filled with so much laughter.” – Love, Cousin Charleston
“A smile we will never forget, a young girl full of silliness, jokes and laughter. She always kept joy in the air. As she began to grow up, we began to see a more forward minded and goal setting young lady. She was even too grown to play family games at our Christmas dinner, but she laughed and had more fun than anybody. You will truly be missed.” – Love, Cousin Amie
“My fond memories are when she attended my daycare; she would play all day, shooting in the little basketball goal. I could see the skills in her then. She was the first to get to the goals, shooting and rarely missing. You could see the smiles and focus when playing. We will miss seeing you on the family gathering.” – Love you much, Aunt Ethel
The City of Henderson would like for the family to know there are no words to tell you how sorry we are. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers
Well, we only have a few more days left in April. So, here are a few facts about this month name April: Did you know this is National Humor Month, so let just smile and be happy; it is also International Guitar Month. If you can play the guitar, get it out and play as loud as you can on your porch. It is also Keep America Beautiful Month. If you see trash in front of you house, pick it up. April is Lawn and Garden Month. This is a wonderful time to work in or make your garden because we will need it sooner than you think. It is also National Kite Month; if you can find a kite, buy it or do like we used to do when we were kids – make it. April is also National Poetry Month, so go ahead and write out your feelings today on paper. It is National Pecan Month. If you have a pecan tree, go ahead. Pick the pecans and make a pecan pie. It is also Stress Awareness Month; find a way to release this stress. The other day, my daughter LaWanna and I ran up and down our long driveway. That was fun! The other day, we worked on the chicken coop; it was a great stress release. It is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. If you know of someone that is being abused, please get try to get them help.
On the prayer list this week: continue to pray for all of the families, friends and loved ones around the world where COVID-19 has attacked, which would be everywhere. Thank the Lord for Psalm 91! Read it.
