Hello to everyone! It is truly a blessing to be with my family and friends one more time. Thank you for taking time to read our hometown paper. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us REJOICE and be GLAD in it! Before we go any further, let us remember the families and loved ones who has lost someone because of the coronavirus pandemic. U.S. total deaths are 240,162, Tennessee total deaths are 3,610 and Chester County total deaths are 18 as of the statistics released on 11/9/20. We all have been affected by COVID-19 some way. Wear your mask please! Let us protect each other, especially our elders!
November is a very special month for me. Why? You may ask. Because it is a Military Month. It is a month when we honor Veterans around the world. Veterans fought for our freedoms and risked their lives whether or not some realized it or appreciated it. Without the service of veterans, we would not have the freedoms we have today.
Another reason is because on Nov. 10, 2020, the USMC will celebrate 245 years of service. Yes! I am a proud Marine who serviced MY country for 21 years from 1973-1994. Not only did I serve but my husband Pastor Frank Holiday, Sr. served as well, USMC/Army, retired, and my brothers, Mr. Larry (Henry) Brown, USMC, retired, and Mr. Dennis Brown, USMC. It did not stop with the Marines. I had other siblings to join the ranks – Mr. Dexter Brown, US Army, and my sister Mrs. Audria (Brown) Dunn.
My husband and I are proud parents that can say we have children who have also served: US Air Force, Mrs. Maria Holiday-Chenelo, LT. US Air Force, and our son Mr. Frank Holiday, Jr. who just completed Field Artillery Captains’ Career Course and was the HONOR Graduate of his class on Nov. 2, 2020. Yes! We are PROUD to be an American and serve for all people in the United States of America
To all of my brothers and sisters who are Veterans in the USA/and around the World, THANK YOU for your many sacrifices where you are putting your lives in danger to keep our country free. To my fellow Marines, we may not get to hold our grand events around the world with Marines and their guests usually donning their best formal wear for dinner and with parades to celebrate its roots. This year, many Marines will be going back to the basics due to the pandemic with celebrations reverting to the minimum requirement of a formation, recognition of the oldest and youngest Marine in attendance and cake cutting ceremony. As a retired Marine Master Sergeant, to all Marines, active duty and retired, Happy 245th Birthday on 11/10/2020. Semper Fidelis!
The City would like to say Happy Belated Birthday to Amie Croom on 11/7. We pray the Lord will bless you with many more!
On the prayer list this week: remember to pray for our United States of America.
Do not forget to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
