Hello to everyone reading this paper. It is always a blessing to be part of your life. Why? Because you are my family and friends, and this is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it! I hope and pray that you will have a great week. The family and I had a wonderful time during the Holy Week and on Easter Sunday. I do not know how many of you saw how beautiful the sky was when the sun rose in the cloudy sky. I looked toward Heaven and said to the Father, “Our Father which is in Heaven, thank You for allowing your Son to come on this earth to die for our sins and raising Him from the dead so we can have salvation! You are an awesome God! And I/we love You!”
Can you believe we only have 10 days remaining in this month? The month of May will be here before we know it, and the class of 2022 will be getting ready for graduation WOW! It does not seem real. I do believe it is May 16, 2022.
There is a very special lady by the name of Ms. Seargava Wyatt; at one time she was a Foster Grandparent at West Chester Elementary for many years. Ms. Wyatt, some of the children who are graduating this year could be some of the same children you served as a foster grandparent for. On April 12 you celebrated your 88th birthday, and the City of Henderson wants you to know we love and appreciate you! Yes! You are 88 years young! We pray the Lord will bless you with many more.
If you would like to work with young children, the Southwest Foster Grandparent Program is looking for seniors who want to make a difference in the life of a child. The requirements are as follows: be age 55 or older, meet federal income guidelines, pass criminal background check, must be physically and mentally fit and be willing to work with children in the elementary schools or Head Start. For more information contact Vivian Kelly at 989-5111 ext. 1145.
Well, the Republican primary election is going on. Please get out and vote for the person that you think will do a great job for all the people. We, the people, need to pray for our United States of America. We are in trouble. If you are not a registered voter, go and register so you can make a difference.
The city would like to say Happy Birthday to Celeste Taylor Geanes on 4/30, Dimitric Carter Brown on 4/26 and Amy Alvis on 4/28. God bless you with many more. The city would like to take this time to wish all of our loved ones in the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center who had a birthday this week a Happy Birthday!
On our prayer list this week is Ms. Valorie Griggs, Ms. Glenda Jewell and anyone you know who needs prayer. Remember to pray for our children, teachers and families, the sick and shut-in, our men and women who are serving our country and also the incarcerated.
Do not forget to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Call me at 608-6132 and leave your message, or you may email me at gloria__holiday@msn.com.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
