Hello to everyone! It is a blessing to be here with you this week! I am so sorry for the weeks I have missed. I hope you forgive me; however, this is the day the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Well, it is here. School will start on Monday, Aug. 1. The City of Henderson appreciates all of the staff within our educational structure who have helped our school to be so successful. Thank you to our Principals, Teachers, SPED, Secretaries, Teacher Assistants, Grandmothers, Bus Drivers, Bus Maintenance, Cooks, Janitors and Other Faculty. To all of the new and returning staff from the Principal to the Janitor, the City would like to let you know how much we do appreciate you; thank you for choosing this career to teach our children, feed them, drive them to/from school and clean up after them. It takes special people to do what you do.
Let us keep our children in prayer for protection, safety, obedience, aptitude enhancement, cohesiveness of relationships between student to student, student to teacher, teacher to teacher and teacher to administrators; the increase of attendances by students; and all workers within the educational structure. Remember the prayer does not stop there. We must continue to pray every day and thank the Lord for a great year.
On Saturday, July 23, there was pattering of feet, big feet, little feet, all sizes of feet in the Chester County Middle School. It was the Back to School Bash, and what a bash it was. Over 300 people came through the line. How do I know? I was there, and it was great to reconnect with parents and children that I have not seen in a long time. The parents were telling me how happy they were to receive the backpacks, school supplies and uniforms for their child/children. Seeing the faces of the children as they left with their new backpack filled with school supplies was heartwarming. Many parents told me it was a blessing, and they look forward for it each year. Thank you to all of the vendors and volunteers that came out to make sure the students of Chester County had school supplies for their first day back to school.
Oh yes, a BIG shout out to Ms. Amy Wooley for all of the hard work and dedication to make sure the Back to School BASH was successful! Thank you, Ms. Wooley! While I was there, I met some new friends also. The City of Henderson would like to welcome Trisha Taylor, Kendra Johnson and their children Kaithen Taylor and Tristan Taylor. I also met another lady by the name of Ms. Latroya Fuller; the City of Henderson wants you to know we are so proud to have you as part of Chester County.
The Chester County Head Start is still taking applications for the school year 2022-23. Children must be three or four years old by Aug. 15. For more information, please call 989-2561 or 989-5111.
On our prayer list: Tyra Wilson, the Thomas family (requested by Ms. Griggs), Mr. and Mrs. John Cawthon (please pray for their health and the healing of their body) and our USA.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you; call me at 608-6132 and leave your message, or you may email me at gloria__holiday@msn.com. HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
