Hello to everyone! It is a new day and a new week. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in! The chill of Fall is in the air. We have had some nice cool days. This is my favorite time of the year. I hope you had a wonderful week. For me and my household, this was one of the best weekends ever. Why? Because I just love being with my family! We laugh, we play, we have meals together, we talk, we disagree and we cry. My little LaWanna is still making sure we exercise together; our children remind us that we are not getting any younger and that we must keep moving and get our checkups. So remember that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. Remember to get your yearly check up.
I hope all of you on Fall Break are enjoying this recess because Oct. 17 everyone will be returning with a new attitude (hopefully a good one) and counting down the days to Thanksgiving.
Oct. 16 is Boss’s Day! It is on a Sunday this year. If you are working and have a boss, do something nice for him or her. It has traditionally been a day for employees to thank their bosses for being kind and fair throughout the year. If you have a boss like that, let them know how much you appreciate them.
I was reading my little devotion recently, and I wanted to share it with you. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat: for God gives rest to His loved ones. This lets me know we do not have to be worrying about tomorrow; the Lord is going to take care of us today.
This is a reminder for those of us who are 65 and older – mark your calendar. The 2022 fall Medicare Open Enrollment Period for 2023 Medicare coverage starts Oct. 15 and lasts until Dec. 7. During this time, all Medicare recipients can change their Medicare health plan and prescription drug coverage for 2023. Information on the 2023 plan is available. You can call 1-800-MEDICARE or visit www.medicare.gov for plan information.
Oct. 11 was the last day for you to make any corrections on your voting card or to register to vote. Nov. 8 is approaching soon. Get out and vote! Your vote matters!
On the prayer list this week: Mrs. Laura Chavez-Boyer family for the loss of her sister-in-law Ms. Patricia Tarraut and Mrs. Donna Moody family for the loss of her uncle Mr. Arthur Bain, Jr. Our condolences go to you. Continue to pray for the United States of America!
Do not forget to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
