Hello to everyone! As always, it is good to be here with you another week, and I count it as a blessing because you know that this is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Just remember there is always someone else that is worse off than you. This week, I am sharing a little information about Southwest HRA programs.

The Southwest HRA Summer Food Service Program did an outstanding JOB this year making sure that children from working, poor families received nutritious meals when Tennessee schools are not in session. Free meals or snacks were provided to all children at approved SFSP sites, such as parks or churches. Thank you for feeding our children.

The Southwest HRA Chester County Head Start had their registration on Aug. 7 and 9. If you know of anyone with a child that will be three or four-years old by Aug. 15, let them know there are still some openings. For more information, call 989-2561 or 989-5111.

The Southwest HRA Foster Grandparents returned to work at East and West Chester on Aug. 12, and the Southwest HRA Head Start Foster Grandparents will return to work on Monday, Aug. 19. They will be working from 8 a.m.-noon Monday through Friday from August until May. Welcome back, Foster Grandparents! I pray that you will have a healthy and safe school year. If you are interested in working with special or exceptional needs children, you can call Vivian Kelly at 989-5111 for a Foster Grandparent application.

Southwest HRA is accepting application for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. You may apply for Energy or Crisis. If applying for Crisis, you must have an elderly or disabled household member, a child under 6-years of age or have documentation of a qualifying uncontrollable circumstance and have a cut-off notice or a lack of home-delivered fuel. If you or someone you know need some assistance with the Utility Bill, give Southwest HRA a call at 989-5111 for more information.

Southwest HRA has so many other programs for the community. Stop by the office, 1527 White Ave., and pick up one of the brochure. It could be something in there for you.

In just about three weeks, we will be approaching Labor Day weekend. It is a time when so many return back home for family and school reunions. If you know of things happening during that week, please let me know so I can let the City of Henderson know what is going on!

On the prayer list this week: pray for the ones who are sick in their homes, for our children, teachers and family, for the men and women who are serving our country and also for the incarcerated

Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthdays, anniversaries, announcements or things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Call me at 989-1907 and leave your message, or you may email me at gloria__holiday@msn.com

HAVE A GREAT AND BLESS WEEK.
