Greetings from Hickory Corner!
I hope all have enjoyed the beautiful weather this week. I hope we can hang on to this nice weather for a little longer. I certainly am not ready for cold weather.
I wish all of you a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. Perhaps your Thanksgiving will look a little different this year; I know mine will, but I hope no matter what you will take the day to be thankful for your many blessings. There is always something to be thankful for even during the stressful 2020 year we are experiencing.
My wish for all of you….”May your stuffing be tasty. May your turkey plump, may your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious, and your pies take the prize, and may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs.” – unknown
JoAnn Clayton and I received an act of kindness this week from Kim Clayton Hearn. My door bell rang, and there was Kim with a Sonic bag. The burger sure was tasty, but more than anything, the gesture warmed my heart. Thanks, Kim! I know JoAnn enjoyed hers, too! Each kindly act you do will bring kindness back to you.
Folks, we have to double down and wear our mask when we go out. COVID-19 is real. The healthcare workers wear their masks every day, so surely, we can wear a mask when we go out. I do mask up. I tried Patsy’s (Jack’s Creek community writer) hint of using peppermint oil in your mask. A drop of oil in my mask did make a difference in breathing. Try it!
It sure is good news to hear that Dwain Seaton, Jr. is home after spending 93 days in the hospital. Prayers were answered. Welcome home, Dwain!
Remember in prayer Arlan Porter, Walt and Ann Bennett, Richy Butler, Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Mary Alice and Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Jim Ruth, W.T. Roland, Peggy Lard and William Luttrell. Continue to pray for those who are dealing with COVID-19 and for those who have lost loved ones. If you would like to add or remove a name to our prayer list, please call me.
If you would like to rent the HCC center for your special event, please call Nancy Patterson at 608-1159.
Please call me at 989-3315 with any news or tidbits.
Give thanks with a grateful heart this week.
