Greetings from Hickory Corner!
Members of the HCC would like to thank everyone who attended the homecoming last Saturday. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great turnout. Many went home with cakes from the cake auction and cake walk. Also, great items on the silent action went home with the highest bidder. Thank you to all the individuals and businesses that donated items. A big thank you goes out to Jeff Bobo who entertained us. We sure appreciate him taking time to come out and sing. Antique tractors were also on display. Thanks to Mike Lott, Spoon, JR Hatch, Tim Wooley, Jackie Roland, Bill Morrison, Alfred Garner and Donnie Patterson for bringing their tractors out. They sure showed how things have changed over the years. It was nice to be able to fellowship again with community, neighbors and friends.
It is with a sad heart as I write this to hear of the passing of Mr. Albert Rebstock on 6/21/21. Albert was a kind and gentle man and always willing to help others. Albert has been cutting my yard for many years as well as my son Terry’s. I know he also mowed yards for Bonice Martin and Erma Lee Morris as well as many others. Sympathy and prayers go out to the Rebstock family.
Remember in prayer Arlan Porter, Ann Bennett, Richy Butler, Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Peggy Lard, William and Eddie Luttrell, and Donna Lynch. Please continue to pray for all those who are dealing with sickness and those who have lost loved ones. Please pray for my daughter and her family in Illinois whose house was severely damaged in a storm last Saturday. They will be out of their home for many months. If you would like to add or remove a name to our prayer list, please call me.
If you would like to rent the HCC Center for your special event, please call Nancy Patterson at 608-1159.
Folks, this is your column. Please call me at 989-3315 with tidbits, birthdays, anniversaries or anything you would like to share with us. You sure would make my life easier by calling me with news.
Make it a great week!
