Operation Rock-Wallaby will help vulnerable animals in Australian fires. They have dropped 4,000 pounds of carrots and sweet potatoes. Computer says 27 humans died, and 20,000 structures burned. Many millions of acres of lands were destroyed, and the number of animals that have died continues to rise; their habitat and water are gone, and they have no shade. These fires started in September, and they expect two more months of fires. Australian government has given 50 million dollars to help, and wealthy people have donated. Water is a precious commodity. Do you waste it? We enjoy it now, but we could need it. Example follows.
On Jan. 8-13, South Australia Environmental Department is supporting the aerial killing of 10,000 thirsty and hungry camels by snipers in helicopters. Camels are a threat to food and drinking water. Some camels have died of thirst or trampled each other as they rush to find water. Some camels have done damage to homes as they try to get water out of an air-conditioner. Australia is suffering the hottest and driest year on record in 2019. So much is happening in our world. Many tragedies. Much animal, children and elderly abuse. Be kind and do all the kindness you can for people or animals. We can pray for all mentioned above and know we have done our best. In Maryland, two occupants (male and female) bought a sack of popped corn at Dollar Tree. They emptied the contents in the parking lot. When the group of eleven seagulls gathered to eat treats, they were killed. The car rushed forward with only one survivor in the group. Broken wings and legs, crushed bodies and heads and broken wings littered the parking lot. A thrill to kill leads to more and more abuse.
Five tidbits: Jan. 3, 1971, Juliane Koepecke, age 17, was sucked out of a plane after it was hit by lightning. She fell two miles strapped to her seat and survived 10 days in the Amazon Jungle before being found; Ninety-year old Anezka Kasparkova from Czech Republic paints murals ON homes. She is doing what she likes – trying to help decorate the world. Our Murdell Barker, age 101 on Feb. 19 is the same type; Jonathan, an Aldabra giant tortoise was born 1832, now age 186 years. Average life is 150 years, but one lived 188 years. Murdell Barker has “tortoise” colored hair-combs. Does that count in her beautiful aging?; Nicknamed “Methuselah” a California pine tree is 4,850 years old. It was seeded 2833 BC; and Eugene Shoemaker is the only man buried on the moon on (4-26-19). “Love you to the moon and back.”
