Prayer requested for Janice and Tommy Patterson; Anita Rhodes Ross; Willis Hudson; Mike (Regina) Brooks on the loss of his sister (Carolyn Armstrong); Teressa Plunk in the hospital; and Andy Maness’s niece, Cheryl Thrasher Ruddy, daughter of Willadean Maness Thrasher and my cousin, is in a hospital. Cheryl and Richie Goodwin were in our 1970 wedding. That makes them age 55.
Thinking of Waymon, Faye, Phyllis and Ashley with warm love. Quiet love passed from our home to your home Damon, Danny and Doris Ross. Tender thoughts to Vicki Dickson for losing two best friends – husband, Billy and friend, Christie Morris Pugh.

Weather remembrances in 2011: Sunday, Jan. 9, at 8:30 p.m. – three inches; Jan. 20 at 1:19 p.m. – little less than two inches; and Jan. 25 – snowed at 8:00 p.m.; February brought a half-inch snow on Monday at 11:05 p.m.; and again on Wed. Feb. 9. These were Dusty’s last snow days. Don made pictures of Dusty and me in the snow. I treasure them greatly.
Tidbits: Swanson introduced TV Dinners in 1953 with roast turkey, stuffing, gravy and sweet potatoes. My mother cooked, but we saw ads on television; crows are so smart that they play pranks on each other; some prisons have inmates taking care of death row cats from local pounds; man has a best friend as well as a cow has a best friend; cows produced more milk with soft music playing; and be nice to a cow – she can easily remember your face. A cow went running to greet a former owner after six months! Cows cries for days when calves are taken from them. Cows slaughtered at age two and calves in a few months. Cows can live 20 years. Try eating soybean and plant-based beef. It is good food without a moo.
More animal tidbits: an elephant’s tooth can weight nine pounds; butterflies taste with their feet; butterfly has about 12,000 eyes; there are about 24,000 species of butterflies; dogs’ nose prints can be used to identify them; and a grizzly bear’s bite is so strong it can break a bowling ball; woodpeckers can peck 20 times per second; and the gender of a turtle is based on the sound it makes – males grunt and female hiss (just like humans)! Ha-ha-ha.

2021 SOMEONE CARES – Franklin Roosevelt was 16, sick and quarantined at a boarding school. His mother, Sara, was so upset being away from her only child that she did something. She climbed a stepladder outside his window so she could be as close as possible to him. I know of grandparents and a mother who drove to the hospital’s parking lot just to be near their loved one.
