“May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” – Shakespeare (quoted by Charles II at the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II).
No news has been reported, so many names of deceased have not been listed in my column. This does not mean sympathy is not expressed. Some of you purchase an obit as a last tribute. Here are the names on my notebook. James Edward Huse; Jerry Wayne Boothe; James Arlin Porter; James “Jimmie” Matthew Lyles (7-12-50/8-16-22), a Jacks Creek boy I went to school with in elementary school. His parents were George and Cordelia. George mowed our school lawns wearing an orange shirt. Then others are Peggy Sue Deberry Duck; Melbern Jones (4-6-25/8-24-22), oldest well-known Jacks Creek man; Timothy Ray Parks; Bobby Eugene Ruth; Wanda Lynn Lucas Patterson; Mildred Scott Beard; Judy Ann Pusser Rogers; Linda Karon Pusser; Carl Edward “Butch” Neisler; William Charles Wooley; and Billy S. Smith.
Prayer requested for Cathy Thompson, Dale Goff and Andy Maness. We are thinking about Carol Preuss (Loving Paws Rescue) and Ruby and Charles Malone. He will always be “Prince Charles” to me. Jack and Terra O’Neal give Don a call. Hugs to Harold James. Kisses to Sue Wright. Tommy Patterson is not forgotten on Patterson Lane. Need to cook the feller some soup. I bet Larry Lambert and Pickle are craving soup during this chilly weather. Remember the big stews they gave for community pals?
Johnny Hayes lives in Henderson Healthcare. Ralph Mays is back from Nashville, having had physical therapy and visiting his daughter, Terra. Recently, Ralph has been visiting his son, Mickey in Mississippi. That man likes to go-go-go. I hope Brad Brower, Charlotte Joyner, Jean Tignor and Regina Tignor are still improving. You can not keep good ole folks down long. Sally Dukes mother, Martha Bell Climer, and son, Derick, need continued prayers. Joanie Bailey Chamberlain, are you still improving? Paul Schilling, how are you? Shane Martin’s surgery was helpful. Betty Haggard and Judy Jones, I have not forgotten you.
Class of 1967 had their 55th reunion Saturday night. Nita Wright Middleton asked me to be photographer, but a health issue prevented me from doing this labor of love. My brother Larry Nobles (9-11-49/10-10-12-17) graduated with this glass. They designed a remembrance table. I can only hope the classmates will send pictures to 731-695-7007. They are such a lovely group of kids I loved during my high school years. I hope to see them in 2027! I hope I am not going to be the “butt of their jokes.”
I found this foot soak that helps wipe dead skin from feet. Soak 10 minutes using one fourth cup of Listerine, one-fourth cup of vinegar and one half cup of water. You can keep doubling the amounts to cover your feet. Wipe your feet and see the improvement.
September birthdays – Regina Brooks and Sharon Boothe. Tenderly remember Waymon Morris (9-23-1925). He celebrates his 97th birthday in heaven. He was a great school bus driver. Garland Whitten (9-22-37) turns 85 in heaven. Ruth Evelyn Morrison Bishop (9-1-39) turns 83 in heaven. They graduated from the Chester County Class of 1957. Also, another classmate, Boyd Armour Pollard, is remembered (9-18-2019) and Max Edward Johnson, Sr. is remembered (9-19-2019) –1957 Classmates dying a day apart.
All community writers end their columns asking for news. Our paper needs you to help add information. Folks away from here are so hungry to hear tidbits and names they knew and miss. Won’t you call your community writer?
(Trivia): Patsy N. Jones received 30 hats one Christmas from a cousin’s friend. I modeled each hat, too. “Winnie” admired me and gave the whole collection to me! Hats make me feel like a Queen. Perhaps that will be my new nickname, Queen Patsy. You do not have to bow or curtsy, and do not ask to try my hat on either —- “Mine” I say with a shrill.
Call 989-7485 if you have a hat for me.
