With Gayle Cox

I missed the early deadline for last week’s paper, and I do apologize for that. Sometimes I have much to shuffle in my life, and hopefully, everyone can understand that. I hope that everyone had a very blessed Thanksgiving. My family and I were able to help serve the free plates to those in need through “Cookies for Cancer,” and if anyone would like to donate to that cause, please contact me. There are always things in the community you can find to help with or support if you just look around for opportunities.
Montezuma Community Center will be holding our annual Christmas Potluck Bingo at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Bring your dish to share and a small bingo prize or two. This will be a fun time of fellowship.
The next event for “Cookies for Cancer” will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (unless we run out early) Saturday, Dec. 14, at Cash Saver Food Store, 410 East Main Street. Cookies and candy will be handed out to those who stop by the tent, and donations that will go to the American Cancer Society will be accepted and greatly appreciated.
Montezuma sends out happy belated birthday wishes to Jacob Beshires and Ann Patterson on Dec. 2 and James Morrison, Jr. on Dec. 3.
Montezuma sends out happy anniversary wishes to John and Ann Moore on Dec. 9 and Rory and Linda Jones on Dec. 10.
Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to Josh Quarles on Dec. 4, Patience Cook on Dec. 7, Zachary Thomas on Dec. 9, Beverly Morton on Dec. 10, Tina Ross and Garrett Denbow on Dec. 11.
Please be in prayer for Nancy Thomas, A J Sutberry, Ricky Hearn, Ed and Betty Morris and Evie Lee Sanders. Please be in prayer for the families of Rovene Thomas, Bill Latham, Bill Askew, Bobby Benson, Betty Colleen Ricketts, Robert Freeman and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
We would love to have some new people get involved in working with us at the community center. Please call me at 608-2857 if you would like to join in.
Please call Betty Cooper at 879-9078 to book the use of the community center.
Please send any noteworthy news you have to share in this column to gaylecox@bellsouth.net or call me at 608-2857.

Blessings to all of you until next time.
