There will be a committee meeting at the Montezuma Community Center at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2. Mayor Barry Hutcherson will be attending to inform Chester County residents about COVID grant funding and how it can be used. Please come for information. If you are a part of the committee now, please mark this on your calendar and be there for the planning of upcoming events, or if you would like to join us, we welcome everyone. With the way things have been through COVID, it has been a more difficult time for the center, and if you have not paid your annual membership dues, please do so now. We are also ready to start collecting membership dues for this year. Dues are $25 and can be mailed to Ann Moore at 2715 State Rt. 225, Henderson, TN 38340. We definitely need everyone to be proactive on this matter.
It is so hard to believe that it is Back To School time already. This summer just flew by, but at least school is starting on time this year, and, hopefully, will go uninterrupted so the students will have a decent summer next year. Please be mindful of school buses and children as they are getting on and off. Send up a special prayer for all the students, teachers and staff as they return to the classrooms.
Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to Luke Moody on July 30 and Justin Denbow on July 31.
Montezuma sends out happy 51st anniversary to Elmer and Susan Maness on Aug. 3.
With so much unrest in our country, I pray that each of you believers will be praying continually for the situation, our government and salvation for the lost. Please pray for Ann Morrison, Jessie Pugh, Teresa Burkhead, Brenda Williams Lambert, Linda Plunk, Vicki Rush, Kristen Daniel, Faye Crouse, Nancy Thomas, Ed and Betty Morris, healthcare workers and law enforcement. We especially want to remember the families of Declan Ray Terry, GW “Dub” Rush, Larry Whitman, Charles Eugene Whitman and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
Please call Betty Cooper at 879-9078 to book the use of the community center.
