Hello everyone! The weather on Sunday was gorgeous. The sun was shining, there was a slight breeze and the temperature was near 70. Unusual, but I will take it. The forecast is for rain to come in around late Tuesday, and there are chances of rain through Thursday, and with the rain comes lower temperatures for a few days. Punxsutawaney Phil did not see his shadow, so spring should come early.
The flu risk is still elevated in our area. Please continue to wash your hands frequently, sneeze or cough into your sleeve and stay home if you have signs or symptoms of the flu or upper respiratory problems.
Daylight savings time will be here March 8. Yay! Not too much longer, and we will have longer days. Get your gardening tools ready!
Remember that Valentine’s Day is Friday, Feb. 14. I am sure many have plans for that day. Not everyone has that special someone. Some are by choice, some not and some through loss. Whatever your life holds, I hope you have a happy day. We have a little poodle and he brings us a lot of love and fun.
I have seen some post on Facebook regarding the Chester County Dancing with the Stars. It is scheduled to be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Williams Auditorium. Some participants have already been listed – Jarred Clayton and Bethany, Brandy Davis and Jay Moody, Mayor Barry Hutcherson and his daughter Hayley Meek, Belinda Anderson and Todd Lewis, Sylvia Flowers and her brother Dennis Brown, Gideon McManus and Logan Williams with the announcer being Terry Hearn. This will be to raise funds for Relay for Life and cancer. The tickets are on sale now for $10. I am planning on attending. Hats off for all the hard work and to the participants doing this.
Happy Birthday to Billy Joe Seaton, Feb. 3; Jesse Fisher, Kayla Barham and Katelynn Pratt, Feb. 4; Mallory McKinney, Feb. 5; Branson Butler, Feb. 6; Tiffany Holder and Sharon Connor, Feb. 7; and Rodney Butler, Feb. 8.
Happy Anniversary to Allison and Dalton Roe, Feb. 3, and Elaine and Paul Bozza, Feb. 4.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Andrew Acred, James Alexander, Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Jerry Bain, Lois Bain, Sheila Berry, Marie Bishop, David Brewer, Maverick Butler, Leon Carroll, Diane Cross, Ann Hinson, Danny Jones, Lee Nell King, Judy Love, Nancy McCaskill, Nancy Morris, LaVelle Page, MaryAnn Priddy, Pam Priddy, Dalton Seratt, Mike Tignor, Jo Willis, Adam Wise, Bill Wood and the family of Tommy Phillips. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those. Even if you do not know their name, God does.
“Hope” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “‘Hope’ creates a privilege – to be aware that dreams come true/It gives us great encouragement that other helps are ‘new’/When I feel down and feel forlorn that all my hope is gone/I always try to think upon advances that are done/Medicine is quite a gift – and God provides the way/for all the new advances that are out there now today/For those of you who worry – and it’s surely understood/I pray you learn how ‘Medicine’ is doing all it should/The journey of an illness overwhelms in every way/and it takes a lot of courage to be positive each day/But, God is ever gracious and He’s given us great men/who study, learn, and work to find the answer He will send/May ‘hope’ provide you comfort – when a dark day comes along/may the progress made in medicine remain to keep you strong/And may your patience, Faith, and strength bring peace into your soul/and in God’s perfect timing – His reward will surely show/Sometimes, things just don’t work the way our hearts have asked them to/but, during your journey – God will always stay with you/He knows what’s right; and in the end, His answer will be best/God’s perfect mercy understands; and He will do the rest.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please call me at 983-0718 or email mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
