Hello to all! I hope everyone is doing well. Saturday was partly cloudy and 75 degrees. We got some more rain Monday and that brought a cold front in. There will be some nights in the 40s towards the end of the week. As I wrote this, I was listening to music from the 50s and 60s. I love these songs but also love from the 70s and 80s. I guess this week we will begin to tidy up around the outside as much as possible. The cold weather usually gets here before we are prepared. Now is the time to enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores outside at a fire pit. We do not have one, but who knows what lies ahead?
Our grandchildren are doing virtual schooling this year. They do get up in the mornings and proceed to have some normalcy in life. It is very different not seeing teachers and classmates. Just imagine how much these children will have changed once they go back to school.
James made some beautiful homemade pear preserves this past week. YUM! We only had enough for seven half-pints. We traveled to Ripley on Friday to get some more. We got a half bushel and that will get us through the winter. We also bought an apple peeler/corer. We bought it at Walmart.com for $20. Worth every penny. We may get a dehydrator for apples and other things.
I am very sorry to hear that Ricky Hopper has COVID-19.. I am praying for him and others who have been struck with this horrible virus. I also would like for everyone to remember Dwayne Seaton, Jr. I have a friend from junior high who has been in the hospital for a month. She is on the vent and has a trach. They also have put a feeding tube in her stomach. She is now in another unit, and some of her family can visit. I know it is so hard to see family or friends that way. Please pray this virus will dissipate and be gone forever. We will have our flu shots next week.
Happy birthday to Al McKinnon, 9-23; Elizabeth Burton, 9-26; Benjamin Brewer, Jeff Weir and Donna Dickey, 9-27; Eliane Bozza, 9-28; Kenneth Maness and Clint Barham, 9-29; Kyle Cupples, 9-30; Madison Seaton, 10-1; and Brianne Matheney, 10-2.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Frances Ada and Tammy, Brenda Ada, Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Beverly Butler, Maverick Butler, Inez Cash, Faye and Pat Connor, Diane Cross, Kristen Daniel and family, Joie Freeman, Ann Hinson, Braelyn Ellis, Jeremy Ellis, Danny Jones, Nancy McCaskill, Nancy Morris, LaVelle Page, Delores Perkins, MaryAnn Priddy, Pam Priddy, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Jim Ruth, Dwain Seaton, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Doris Sells, Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Kristi Taylor, Peggy Zimmerle and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military and law enforcement, all those affected by the virus, our country and its leaders and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does.
“The Way” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “What more can move a broken soul – and calm a worried mind/for each day brings such challenges; and trials of every kind/One day the sun shines brightly; and each hour spills countless dreams/then, suddenly…another day can break your heart, it seems/But, one thing ever constant…is the love we all can share/and spread this kindness to the world; and prove we really care/I’ve found that on my darkest days – one simple hug can heal/and when we love each other, it calms the hurt we feel/Life is filled with changes; and no guarantees secured/but, our souls are lifted higher…with every love – filled word/We need to always practice; and work harder every day/Love never fails to heal us – it’s ‘this love’ that shows the way.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.

Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
