Hello to all! I hope everyone is doing well. Saturday was partly cloudy and 75 degrees. We got some more rain Monday and that brought a cold front in. There will be some nights in the 40s towards the end of the week. As I wrote this, I was listening to music from the 50s and 60s. I love these songs but also love from the 70s and 80s. I guess this week we will begin to tidy up around the outside as much as possible. The cold weather usually gets here before we are prepared. Now is the time to enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores outside at a fire pit. We do not have one, but who knows what lies ahead?
Our grandchildren are doing virtual schooling this year. They do get up in the mornings and proceed to have some normalcy in life. It is very different not seeing teachers and classmates. Just imagine how much these children will have changed once they go back to school.
James made some beautiful homemade pear preserves this past week. YUM! We only had enough for seven half-pints. We traveled to Ripley on Friday to get some more. We got a half bushel and that will get us through the winter. We also bought an apple peeler/corer. We bought it at Walmart.com for $20. Worth every penny. We may get a dehydrator for apples and other things.
I am very sorry to hear that Ricky Hopper has COVID-19.. I am praying for him and others who have been struck with this horrible virus. I also would like for everyone to remember Dwayne Seaton, Jr. I have a friend from junior high who has been in the hospital for a month. She is on the vent and has a trach. They also have put a feeding tube in her stomach. She is now in another unit, and some of her family can visit. I know it is so hard to see family or friends that way. Please pray this virus will dissipate and be gone forever. We will have our flu shots next week.
