Hello to all! I hope you all had a good week. The weather has been fair with scattered showers of which we have been delighted to have. We are still fortunate to have tomatoes and some squash. James’ watermelons are coming right along. Our biggest complaint is armadillos. They are very destructive as I am sure those of you know that are overcome with them. They will tear your yard up. I will pass on a tip. If you are planting bulbs, plant them in a plastic cup in the ground, and voles will not eat them. I will try this out. We are still seeing several hummingbirds and butterflies. We do see occasional cardinals. Our yellow finches seem to have flown the coop. I am glad it is cooler at night but enjoy summer…what is left of it.
Please continue to pray for all that have this horrible virus, their families, healthcare workers, students and school faculty. Only God knows how long this situation will continue, but we must be thankful for our blessings and try to support one another, whether by prayer or other ways; our efforts are still needed.
Here is another post on Bandit, BJ Seaton’s pup. He has found out a weed eater is not a toy to play with. He got to close, and the weed eater bit him. Now, he knows. BJ was cooking himself something on the grill. He had tenderized and marinated it, and I know his mouth was watering just thinking about it. He finished cooking it, cut it up and was waiting on his potato . The phone rang, and he turned to answer it, and Bandit was enjoying about half of BJ’s grilled meat. That little fella ceases to amaze us. BJ’s life would be boring without him now, and so on the saga goes.
A friend was mowing a zero turn for the first time last week. I can surely relate. She was given the instructions on usage and told to take it easy and go. Well, she took off and was headed for the truck, very fast. It was that or a tree, so she turned and went another direction. Next thing she knew, she had circled the truck, tree and house. At one point her hair was blowing in the wind, and she thought she was about to take flight. When she got around to the side of the house, her hair was standing on end and so was her friend’s. She said it was the fastest thing on wheels she had ever been on. After a short break and getting more instructions, she mowed the front yard three times and her friend finished up. She said it was faster than any fair ride she had ever been on and scarier. I found this hilarious, and I hope you can get a laugh or grin out of this as we journey through this socially distanced life.
