Hello to all from this little corner of the world! I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the next week. The temperature was 39 degrees, and the skies were a beautiful blue on Sunday. As everyone knows, it was pretty nippy outside. The temperatures are supposed to warm into the 50s next week with lows mostly in the 30s. We had a falcon on our back deck railing Saturday. That was something to see. I am told the coyotes are hungry and howling. Please watch over your small animals and wild stock. It makes me sad to see fawns or calves being left motherless because of this. I know everything has to eat along with those hunting deer. I just love to admire them and nature. I could go vegetarian for the cause, but my family could not.
Condolences go out to the family of Jeff Thomas, brother of Judy Harris, and others who must go through the process of loss and grief. Prayers are with you all.
Thursday, Nov. 24, is Thanksgiving, and I hope everyone is able to enjoy time together. I also hope there is warmth and food to be had. It does not have to be a BIG meal of the usual fare, but just cornbread, beans and dessert would be nice. Hey, throw a few pieces of bacon on to fry for meat eaters, and that should do the job.
I pray everyone experiences kindness, good health, financial stability and mental stability among other blessings. Remember to thank God everyday you wake up; that is the first blessing. Life can be good or bad – it depends on how we look at it. We have lost a son, but we are nearly into 25 years without him and life does go on. It is just not the same and never will be. We miss him as much as ever, but life is still a blessing. God is so good to carry us and you through the trials of life. He is there for you and will never leave. He will help you bear the storm. ALWAYS give Thanks.
Happy birthday to Seth Massengill, 11-20; Glen McCaskill, 11-22; and Hunter Butler, Mark Morris and Kathy Pounds, 11-24.
Happy anniversary to Donna and Bryan McMorris, 11-24, and Ray and Ann Pusser, 11-26.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Stephanie Baker, Shelia Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, Jackie Chambers, Pat Connor, Brenda Dudley, Martha Mainord, Adisyn Matthews, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Ann Pusser, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Donald Rowlett, Dwain Seaton, Jr. Alice and Buddy Stovall, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, Adam Wise and pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and first responders
“Believing all things come from God lays the foundation for biblical thanksgiving. ‘For of him, and through him, and to him are all things. To whom be the glory forever.’ (Roman. 11:36). God is the source of our gifts and the object of our gratitude. Thanksgiving begins and ends with Him. A God-centered life produces a praise-filled life.” Dustin Crowe
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
