Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sun was shining, and the skies were blue on Sunday. There was an occasional breeze blowing, and the temperature was 56 degrees. We are very blessed with birds. We have had plenty of cardinals, chickadees, towhees and yellow finches, and James saw a blue bird this morning on one of our birdhouses. They are loving our sunflower seeds, and we are going to try and portion it out as half of our 40 pound bag is already gone. They love this weather, and so do I. I imagine most of us are looking forward to spring. The forecast has possible rain ahead and a few warmer days sprinkled into the middle of the week. I hope you all stay safe and enjoyed Valentine’s Day in your own way.
We enjoyed seeing Motown at Williams auditorium Saturday night. There was a very good crowd. We saw them when they were here last year. I saw several there that I knew from the past and met new people also. We also went to eat at the Finger Fire Department with some friends. They had great attendance, and the food was delicious. Many volunteers worked hard to help raise money for the volunteer fire department.
The sermon Sunday morning was on LOVE. Very appropriate in more ways than one. The subject was taken from 1 John-4 and 1 Corinthians-13. The Bible is all about love from beginning to end. Love is the greatest virtue we could have, Christian love that is rooted and grounded in God. Love originates with God and never fades away. Real Christian love as God would want us to have never fades away.
Congratulations to Emily and Ryan Calderon on the birth of their bundle of joy, a daughter named Callie Cruz.
Happy birthday to DeWitt Swayne, 2-12; Johnny Hays, 2-13; Meghan Cooper, 2-14; Donna Bishop, 2-15; Jerry Rogers, 2-17; and Margie McGhee, 2-18.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Jackie Chambers, Shirley Kendrick, Martha Mainord, Adisyn Matthews, Janeane Moore, Debbie Morris, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Karon Reinmann, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Cathy Sisson, Kevin Thurman, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. “Thank You, God, For Everything” by Helen Steiner Rice – “Thank You, God, for everything – the big things and the small/For ‘every good gift comes from God’ – the giver of them all/And all too often we accept without any thanks or praise/The gifts God sends as blessings each day in many ways/First, thank You for the little things that often come our way/The things we take for granted but don’t mention when we pray/Then, thank You for the ‘Miracles’ we are much too blind to see/And give us new awareness of our many gifts from Thee/And help us to remember that the Key to Life and Living/Is to make each prayer a Prayer of Thanks and every day Thanksgiving.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
