Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The skies were pale blue with scattered white-gray clouds on Saturday with an occasional nice breeze. It was a gorgeous day. Our azaleas are blooming and alternate with white and deep pink. The birds I mentioned last week continue to visit. We have also had blue birds, a rose-breasted grosbeak and the little yellow bird we have seen for three years has returned to its home here. The color on this bird is like a dark yellow egg yolk. It has the sweetest high-pitch song. Skunks come occasionally, and one did last night. It was one of those turn on the ceiling fans and shut the door fast kind of evenings. Armadillos are having a hay day all over this land. Terrible. Some holes out in the field we mow look as if a post hole digger was used. I do not know how anyone could fill in all those holes. We were going to try and get out and do flower prep today, but after weed eating, James’s back needed a rest. The yard looks real good. The first mowing this year, and so it begins!
We enjoyed a visit from our son Jeremy this morning even if we did have to get out of bed. Our kids are worth it. He got us up, connected our surround sound and spent some time with us.
Next, Braelyn and Laiken came up to visit after lunch. We are always happy to see them, too. I bought two puzzles. One is shapes and the other ABCs. Laiken knew where every shape went and did it quickly, and she also knows her ABCs by sight and can say her ABCs. She loves puzzles and play dough. She is growing so fast and is very smart. She is 2 1/2 years old. Pepper had his visit to get his shots and flea/tick prevention. He has only had one tick on him and that was one too many.
We have been watching Farmer Wants a Wife on the CW station. Four farmers from different areas are seeing if they can find love. It is a wholesome show. One farmer is from Santa Fe. Jennifer Nettles is the host. We also like American Idol, especially me since I LOVE music.
Happy birthday to Josh Fahs, 4-16; Estelle Jones, 4-18; Ann Weir, 4-20; and Shaun Swayne, 4-21.

“Hard times are often blessings in disguise. Let go and let life strengthen you. No matter how much it hurts, hold your head up and keep going. This is an important lesson to remember when you’re having a rough day, a bad month, or a crappy year. Truth be told, sometimes the hardest lessons to learn are the ones your spirit needs most. Your past was never a mistake if you learned from it. So take all the crazy experiences and lessons and place them in a box labeled thank you.” – Manisha S. Bundela
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
