Hello to all! The sun was gorgeous on Saturday even though the air was chilly. I hope you all had a good week. We are beginning to see more birds. I also am seeing more buttercups and blooming things, but we are still going to have some cold weather. The weather forecast is for highs mostly in the high 40s to low 50s with cold nights for two weeks. I do see where we should see 60 degrees around March 4. I saw a prediction for March to be colder than average. I know we are all itching to see warmer temperatures. Most of us want to get outside. Life flies by, we must be patient.
We enjoyed a Valentine’s dinner at Friendship Baptist Church Friday, Feb. 21, by our youth group. Everything was decorated very pretty. We had a nice meal of chicken, green beans and a pasta dish. Dessert was furnished by Stephanie Hatch. We also played several cute and fun games. Thanks to the youth and Krystal and Jay Chalk, the youth leaders.
We are facing the last week of February. Daylight Savings time begins March 8. I LOVE it!
Now, Happy Birthday to ALL the LEAP YEAR babies. Feb. 29 is the day to celebrate those born during this time. Leap year only comes every four years. I would have to cheat and have a birthday cake every year, but I just would not turn older. Hey, that sounds like a plan, right? Oh, do not forget Spring Break also comes March 23-27. Extra luck if your Irish.
Happy Birthday to Taylor Morris, Feb. 24; Braylon Sanford, Feb. 25; Sue Lewis and Mallery Crame, Feb. 27; and Tanner Butler, Feb. 28.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Jerry Bain, Lois Bain, Bill Barrett, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Maverick Butler, Leon Carroll, Diane Cross, Johnny Hays, Danny Jones, Judy Love, Nancy McCaskill, Nancy Morris, LaVelle Page, MaryAnn Priddy, Pam Priddy, Dalton Seratt, Mike Tignor and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those. Even if you do not know their name, God does.
“Forever Stays” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “Stored safely deep within my mind and kept forever real/are all the friendships I have made and all the things I’d feel/They’ll never dim or fade away – for now they are secure/I’ll never have to look for them…inside my thoughts they’re pure/At any given moment – when I wish to see my past/I close my eyes and suddenly I’m back where they will last/Each special moment touches me – just like it did before/and any time I want to…I can go back there for more/Each and every piece of love…will never go away/Your mind has kept a special spot where every memory stays/The beauty of each day you’ve lived – and every joy you’ve found/will always be a part of you…they’ll always be around/Remember when you’re older – and you think back on your days/that all the beauty still exists, and all the memory stays/There is no love that ever dies – you never have to miss/just close your eyes and use your mind to smile and reminisce.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. We are not answering numbers we do not recognize due to the high number of robocalls. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
