The weather was gorgeous this weekend. The birds were chirping, and there was beautiful sunshine. We have enjoyed some very nice days. I was able to mow our backyard and some of the front Friday, but James has to wait a few days for the ground to dry out. The tractor almost got stuck, so he will wait. Thankfully, we were spared from storms Saturday night, as much as I know. Jonesboro, Ark., had a bad tornado come through which caused some destruction. I do not know about loss of life. The weather forecast calls for some rain one day this week with very good temperatures. The extended forecast shows average to above average temperatures for the month of April. We are starting some things outside now. There is always something to do inside.
It seems someone needs a congratulations. Billy Joe Seaton has a new baby at home – a three-month old black and white male puppy. He is a rescue pup. What a great thing to do. Precious little fellow will have a forever home and a loving home. Right now, as I follow them, the pup is being very inquisitive, curious about all the new things. Billy Joe is enjoying the walks, fun, laughs and love this little boy brings. He has named him Bandit due to Billy Joe having to look for many things after Bandit joined his home. Ms. Melba loves him, too. I hope they all enjoy many days together.
We at Friendship Baptist Church are enjoying church the best way we can. Bro. Glenn is posting a video to our Friendship Baptist page Sunday and Wednesday. Join us online to hear God’s word at a time when life is in upheaval, but God is still in control. I know Grace Sanford Hill, Englewood and others are doing this. It is a great way to get the word out, and Satan will not win. Please continue to pray for our country, the world that God created, and the eradication of this virus. I continue to hope and pray that all we are going through will produce a kinder, gentler, friendlier world. We could always pray for this.
Happy Birthday to Jan Priddy, 3-28; Karsyn Knipper, Bro. Glenn Harris and Ann Dyer Pusser, 3-30; Jennifer Williams, 4-1; and Claire Garrison, 4-1.
Happy Anniversary Phyllis and Bill Wood, 3-29.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Maverick Butler, Leon Carroll, Diane Cross, Rachel Ellington, Bro. Glenn Harris, Larry Johnson, Danny Jones, Judy Love, Nancy McCaskill, Nancy Morris, LaVelle Page, MaryAnn Priddy, Pam Priddy, Joe Carl Reeves, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Doris Sells, Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Buddy and Alice Terry Stovall, Kristi Taylor, Mike Tignor and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military and law enforcement, our country and its leaders, the first responders and all those affected by the coronovirus. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those. Even if you do not know their name, God does.
“Happening” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “I see it now…I feel it – so much is going wrong/but we are born of Mighty strength and must keep staying strong/We’ve gotten used to normalcy and most things in control/and now when changes rule our day…there’s fear within our soul/But this is not the time to fall – our Faith must guide our way/when things seem wrong and strength is weak – God still controls our day/Lean on all His wisdom and pray for needed ‘hope’/God’s truths provide each answer and help our minds to cope/Whenever there is trouble – or some fear of any kind/’prayer’ will comfort endlessly and ease your troubled mind/God is love…and love is God – no earthly trials can win/For His own son came long away and conquered every sin/When times come…and surely will – don’t ever let fear win/God will always help us all…and great things will begin/How powerful to know this truth – how wondrous is our King/for He and all His Majesty can conquer anything!”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. We are not answering numbers we do not recognize due to the high number of robocalls. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
