Here is wishing you a happy week to all.
The weather has continued to be hot, but we are supposed to have cooler weather this week, and it is supposed to be less humid. Who knows? Maybe our car will be hand washed this week. I know we will still have some very warm days, but we are still enjoying things from our garden and have an abundance of butterflies. They make me very happy. I love to watch them flitting around. They love lantana. We planted at least six in our flowerbed. The birds continue to be hungry and are fed well.
I am praying for this coronavirus to end. We continue to have limited necessary outings, use masks and antibacterial gel and practice social distancing.
Prayers continue for those that are struggling with this virus, for families affected and for healthcare workers doing all they can to alleviate pain and distress for patients and families. I do know and believe that God will end it when it is in His plan. I am praying for our country and its leaders; again, God is in control. I pray for our president Donald Trump and the loss of his brother, his friend. If humanity would put as much effort into praying and caring for others as they do protests and rioting, imagine what our world could be.
Update on Bandit, Billy Joe Seaton’s furbaby. Bandit has continued to be an escape artist. He was removing spindles from the backyard deck so BJ decided to screw them in – no luck. Even chicken wire did not help. He climbed the fence and gate to be with his owner. BJ says he is determined not to lose this fight for Bandit’s wellbeing. BJ thinks he has won the battle with the escape artist Bandit. He had to add the fence charger to the top of the fence. Bandit was zapped twice but has now become a stay-in-the-fence dog. He sure yells when BJ leaves him. BJ has also found out Bandit likes tomatoes, Red or green, it makes no difference. BJ says no problem there, BUT little Bandit is mischievous; he brought in a half-eaten red jalapeno. He drank a bowl of water and two frozen treats made of sweet potatoes and yogurt; that settled him down. We do not know if he learned anything, but I am sure Bandit will have other surprises for us down the road. He is just young now and full of pep. Never a dull moment, but full of love.

Trisha Yearwood’s Charleston Cheese Dip – You will need half a cup of mayonnaise, one eight ounce package cream cheese (softened), one cup sharp cheddar cheese (grated), half a cup of Monterey Jack cheese (grated), two green onions (finely chopped), one-fourth teaspoon of cayenne pepper, eight butter crackers (crushed) and eight slices bacon (crumbled). Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix mayonnaise, cream cheese, grated cheeses, onions and cayenne pepper together in a small bowl. Spread mixture into a baking dish and cover with crushed crackers. Bake about 15 minutes until warm. Crumble bacon on top of dip. Serve with crackers.
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are ‘hungry’ for news from home.

Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
