Hello to all! Here it is again – another week. We are now in mid-November, and it will not be long until Turkey day! Wonder how many like turkey? I know some like ham. I just found out a few years ago that my husband does not like green bean casserole. He ate some of it. I would have voiced my likes a long time ago. As if this COVID-19 has not added pounds to people who are having to work from home. Now they have to think about eating for several days due to an abundance of different foods. I have to think of those less fortunate at this time and their lack of food and necessities. I know they will be having to-go plates for Thanksgiving out in front of Henderson Pharmacy on Nov. 26. Please call 731-658-6347 or email bethriva04@yahoo.com to reserve a meal. This is requested prior to Nov. 20. God bless those who give and participate. I also think of our military and being away from their loved ones during this time. I know they will be fed and I am thankful for that.
Remember the Henderson Christmas parade is Dec. 3. I have seen decorations being put up in town. I know it will be very pretty. Thanks for all those who add to our holiday beauty. I think I read where UrbanHouse is going to have some employees dressed in the time period of Charles Dickens’s time.
Sunday was a beautiful day with sunshine and pretty blue-gray skies. It was windy, and we were awakened with lots of wind and heavy rain in the early morning. It did not last long. The week ahead calls for temperatures to be mostly in the 60s with lots of sun. Enjoy the week, as winter is coming.
Happy birthday to Dalton Roe, 11-18; Janice Acred, 11-19; and Seth Massengill, 11-20.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Frances Ada and Tammy, Brenda Ada, Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Inez Cash, Diane Cross, Kristen Daniel and family, Danny Jones, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Delores Perkins, Pam Priddy, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Jim Ruth, Dwain Seaton, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Kristi Taylor, Lakin White, Peggy Zimmerle and Adam Wise.
Also, please pray for our military and law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID-19 and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does.
“Our Fight for God” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “They’ll always be some people who will strangely look your way/and whisper of the words you write and things you want to say/but Faith in God is worth it – and God sees your very soul/He watches from the Heavens, and He will prove it so/When you show other people of the love you hold inside/and you announce your truth is true…God never lets you die/Your earthly days are numbered; but your real life will begin/as quickly as you close your eyes – You’ll be there with Him/What awesome glory waits for those who believe that God is real/and give their life to Him each day -and shout out what they feel/For nothing in this world will ever top what joys you’ll see/when earthly life is ended and your soul is finally ‘free’.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
