Hello to everyone! Sunday was a beautiful day! The sun was shining, and the sky was blue with an occasional breeze. I am seeing a few azalea blooms and hope for other things to follow. Some yard work is on the agenda this week. There is a 40 percent chance of rain Wednesday evening with temperatures in the 70s during the day and mostly in the 50s at night. Of course, we live in the south, so mother nature is unpredictable many times.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and celebrated Christ’s arising from the grave. Only He could have done that. We owe so much to Him, yet we will never be able to repay Him. I just try to live the best I can, try to worship Him, let Him know I LOVE Him, appreciate Him and praise Him for the many blessings seen and unseen. We had a very good Sunday morning service at Friendship and a very good attendance. Some people had family members visiting with them, and we are always glad to see that.
We had a wonderful afternoon with Jeremy and his family. We had a very good meal and enjoyed spending time with each other. Laiken is full of energy and grabbing at most anything within her reach. She will be six months old this month. She is such a joy and growing like a weed. Braelyn is a good mama. Braxton continues to entertain her. This was our first family meal together since Laiken was born. Lord willing, there will be more. Next year, we can hunt Easter eggs. My sister Kathy has a granddaughter that is two and a half years old, and they could be great playmates next year.
Happy birthday to Claire Garrison and Jennifer Williams, 4-1; Vicki Dickson, 4-6; and Kacey Pratt, 4-10.
Happy anniversary to Hope and Hunter Butler, 4-5, and Joyce and Robert Brewer, 4-6.
Please continue to remember these in prayer William Acred, Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, Robert and Joyce Brewer, Jackie Chambers, Nancy McCaskill, Sarah McLemore, Doris McKinney, Andy and Doris Maness, LaVelle Page, Linda Clifft Plunk, Pam Priddy, Donald Rowlett, Jim Ruth, Dalton Seratt, Jo Willis and Bruce Wright. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID-19 and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“Just Close Your Eyes” by Helen Steiner Rice – “Just close your Eyes and open your heart/And feel your worries and cares depart/Just yield yourself to the Father above/And let Him hold you secure in His love/For life on earth grows more involved/With endless problems that can’t be solved/But God only asks us to do our best/Then He will take over and finish the rest/So when you are discouraged, tired and blue/There is always one door that is open to you/And that is the door to The House of Prayer/And you’ll find God waiting to meet you right there/And The House of Prayer is no further away/than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray/For the heart is a temple when God is there/As we place ourselves in His loving care/And He hears every prayer and answers each one/When we Pray in His name – Thy will be done/The burdens that seemed too heavy to bear/Are lifted away on the wings of a prayer.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
