Hello to all! I hope the week has been kind to you. Mother Nature sure is having fun with us. We do not know if she is coming or going. This week, we warm up into the 70s, but the high on Wednesday is supposed to be 57 with a low of 36 with and a little chance of rain this week. It should be back up into 70 and above by next Sunday. We have seen one or two hummingbirds, and our other birds have slacked off at the feeders. I guess it is the weather fluctuations affecting them. James did see a blue grosbeak this morning. That is a new one for our yard. We also saw a doe and her two young ones walking in our backyard this past week. Our azaleas are beginning to bloom, but our iris have not shown buds yet.
Well, Billy Joe Seaton’s fur baby Bandit has done it again. He has learned how to fish! BJ was cutting grass down around the lake, and, of course, Bandit was with him as always. Billy Joe went back to the house to get a drink, and Bandit eventually went back to the house but had a surprise for his daddy. He had a small to medium size bream. BJ was able to get him to give it up after a while. BJ thinks his next trip to town will include looking for a fishing pole. Maybe BJ should start doing video clips of his fur baby and sending them to America’s funniest videos. It seems the audience always loves animals and children. Looking forward to hearing from future escapades of this young fella.
Rachel Ellington reports that she has several birds and a male cardinal that prefers dry dog food over the birdseed. The dog just lays there and lets the bird eat. She also has seen the blue grosbeak today. I am glad; it is a beauty.

Last week, it appeared in my column that Lindsay Sparks and Justin Bishop would welcome one on 5-22. I had actually that written they would “become one” on 5-22 (they are getting married). It was after the announcement of Katelyn Pratt’s and Justin Phelps’s new baby girl. It was brought to my attention. I write my article, proofread it and even read it to my husband, and hopefully, it is all correct, but everyone, even the newspaper, makes errors. I have my email listed for information. If you would like something listed in my article, please email me. If there are errors, I want to know through my email. I do not know if someone dies if I am not told, and the obituary is not in the paper, so they may still be on the prayer list. I would imagine most of the writers are in the same boat. Please help us out. We sure would appreciate it.
Marla Davidson attended a mother-daughter sorority event at UT Martin Saturday with Kendyl Davidson.
Happy Birthday to Estelle Jones, 4-18; Ann Weir, 4-20; Shaun Swayne, 4-21; and Cooper Jackson and Lucille Scheele, 4-23.
Please continue to remember these in prayer William Acred, Denise Armstrong, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. Butler, Jackie Chambers, Zack Eaton, Nancy McCaskill, Sarah McLemore, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Donald Rowlett, Jim Ruth, Dalton Seratt, John Webb, Daryell Williams, Jo Willis and Bruce Wright. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Please pray for the family of A J Flatt. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“New Beginnings” by Helen Steiner Rice – “How often we wish for another chance/to have a fresh beginning/A chance to blot out our mistakes/and change failure into winning/It does not take a new year/to make a brand new start/It only takes the deep desire/to try with all your heart/To live a little better/and to always be forgiving/To add a little sunshine/to the world in which we are living/So, never give up in despair/and think that you are through/For there’s always a tomorrow/and a chance to start anew.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.

Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
